Apple Sauce is Too Sweet

My sister just made me some homemade applesauce, and unfortunately the apples were too sweet. Is there something that can be put into this applesauce to make it more tart tasting and help limit the sweetness? Thank you.

I would mix in some applesauce made from apples that are a little on the tart side, such as granny smith.

I would add some lemon juice, maybe a teaspoon at a time until you find the combination you like. Good luck. Connie:)
