Happy Birthday "Clipper"

By Susan Sanders-Kinzel

Since last week was the third anniversary of The Coupon Clipper, we figured we would write a little about the history of this newsletter. The Coupon Clipper was started as a weekly newsletter to share thrifty tips in July of 1998 in conjunction with Coupon Central, a website we founded and designed the preceding year. Coupon Central started as a local area coupon website but we found there was much more interest nationwide than there was in our local area.

As Coupon Central went through numerous rebuilds and changes, The Coupon Clipper continued as a weekly newsletter and grew. In February of 1999, the Daily Thrifty Tip newsletter started with ideas and tips 5 days a week. Included originally in The Coupon Clipper, the Reader's Request was started later that year. And finally, last year before Christmas we started the Thrifty Gift Digest which concentrates on thrifty gift giving and wrapping ideas.

In August of 1999 we opened a revamped version of the ThriftyFun.com site so all of the great information we'd accumulated could be found online. Our latest version of the website allows feedback to be added to tips and has been online since December of last year.

We are a family of web designers and entrepreneurs and operate ThriftyFun, Coupon Central, EcoCentral and Cumuli Ezine Finder out of our home.

Thank you for all your support over the years. You all have made The Coupon Clipper and our other newsletters what they are today.
