Does anyone know how to get scotch tape and brown tape off wooden furniture? It is impossible to peel off now. Thanks,
- Anna Marie in Lesigny, France

Tried all the above and no help. The only thing that worked was the hair dryer and that was the last thing I tried. It took a while and alot of scrubbing with a lint free cloth but I got it off.

Try a product called Goo Gone. It is citrus based and works very well on stubborn tape. Just follow the directions

I used to work for a used furniture store, and we would clean each piece as it came in. Most of what we got came from auction houses and I think they used tags with cement for glue! Anyway, we would just squirt some GooGone all over the tape and let it sit for a few minutes, and it would peel off like magic. Scotts Liquid Gold also works as does WD-40. I think the key to getting the tape off, would be to work the GooGone (or whatever product you decide to use) under an edge, and as it loosens, continue working it up under the tape until all the adhesive is dissolved.

Try using a warm iron and cover the tape area with a cloth
and apply heat only ... no steam.

This also works great if you have a box you want to reuse with labels, heating the label makes it easy to peel off.

If the other things have not worked. Try rubbing baby oil on it.

Use WD-40, let is soak a little while before wiping off with a dry towel.
