I'd like to purchase the Clorox Ready Mop, but I think I remember seeing a tip in your newsletter about where to purchase it less than retail. Do you know what stores offer it for less money?

I think I read in your newsletter that the Clorox Ready Mop canister can be refilled when the solution runs out and that a new canister does not have to be purchased each time, do you know if this is correct? I read that the Swiffer Wet will only take a new Swiffer canisters when the solution runs out, which is a huge consumer rip-off.

Do you have any information on these two questions before I purchase the Clorox Ready Mop. Also, your readers may want to know that the Clorox Ready Mop website gives a $5 printable rebate coupon.

Clorox refill bottles for the Clorox Ready-mop are not stocked in Sringfield, IL stores. What is the reason for this, does anybody know?

Although toxic, a 1:30 bleach/water solution is best to kill both canine and feline parvo virus. Does anyone know, however, if clorox can be used on pergo floors? I don't want to ruin my floor, but I need to sanitize the house before my puppy gets home.

Clorox is a dangerous chemical. It's vapors are toxic.
With all the toxic chemical we now us in our homes,
is it no wonder that now our children are more likely
to have asthma or cancer then 50 years ago.
Use vinegar and water with a bit of tea tree oil for
you household cleaning. It is CHEAPER and SAFER.

Editor's Note: Green cleaning is the best. You can refill the Swiffer Wet Jet bottle with vinegar and water and use rags for the pads.

I want to thank the woman who informed the Public that the Clorox Chemical may have caused her cat to die and make the other cat sick. I believe that Household Chemicals should be tested so animals and people do not get sick.

My wife has had a Ready/Mop for a couple of weeks and thinks it is the best thing since sliced bread. Unfortunately the yoke that holds the mop to the handle broke. Don't know it is a single incident or a product failure. At any rate I am unable to locate a replacement part.

I can't get down on the floor - I'm 77 - and need a good mop that will go under fronts of fridge, stove and dishwasher, that will get the yukky spots up without bending over to scrub by hnd - and that won't leave the floor dull looking.

Which is my best bet?

Does anyone else have this problem with the CRM? After I mop my kitchen floor, and it dries, it dries dull. I have a pergo type floor, not real wood, but laminated. It is supposed to be okay to use the clorox cleaner, but I sure dont like the finish when I am thru mopping it.

About a year ago, I bought the clorox mop (easy to use) and my cat started having signs of illness. Two days later he died. I could not prove it was the mop (suspected something else) and kept using the mop without using the chemicals. My new cat is fine because I stopped using the chemicals and added regular cleaner to the mop instead of the clorox chemical. Recently, my mop broke and I had to buy a new one and used the chemicals again. My cat has been sick for two days and THANK GOD he seems ok today. Please do not use this product if you have animals inside because it is extemely toxic for them. It was terrible to lose an animal but I am THANKFUL I know now what caused it and want the public to be aware of this.

I too bought the Swiffer and love it, however the bottle of solution doesn't last long and can't be refilled. I just happen to prefer to mop with Mr. Clean anyway, so i just got a squirt bottle & filled it with my own solution & squirt what i need on the floor and start mopping. The pads are great if your floors aren't too dirty, but living on a farm , i need to use more pads & they get used up pretty fast & are very expensive. Sometimes i'll squirt the solution on the floor, then put several paper towels on the floor and swish them around with my feet to get up the heaviest dirt, then finish off with the swiffer pad.

Swiffer Wet Jet Bottles can be refilled by drilling a hole in the bottom and putting in a cork which will then allow you to refill as needed.

Hi Shayla, they used to have a coupon on the ready mop website but that appears to have expired. You could try post the request on our Coupon Swap, though.

I didn't go quite THAT far to save a buck! I did purchase the Swiffer Wet Jet (with a coupon & on sale!) for the convenience. Then I saw how much the disposable cleaning pads were! However, at my local Big Lots (love that place!) I found a replacement sponge mop head that has velcro on the back! I can secure it to the Swiffer, do my mopping & pop it in the washer with my rugs or towels! It was $1.49.

I made my own wet mop buy purchasing the head of a sanding pole(they use these to sand drywall). The harrington brand with the screw clamps work the best. This will fit on a standard mop or broom handle. I then attatched a swivel cup holder to the handle with zip ties. Fill a spray bottle with cleaner cut a terry cloth towel to fit the sanding head. and you have a very inexpensive version. total cost was 5.99 i recycled everything but the sanding head. my husband laughs and calls it my hillbilly swiffer but hey i saved a ton.

I saw the Clorox Ready Mops and Swiffer Wet Mops at WalMart . From what I could see, the Clorox ones would be refillable but the Swiffer ones didn't appear to be. There might be some way to get the cap off to refill it but without owning one I couldn't say for sure.

ALDI food store had it advertised a couple of weeks ago. Wal-mart is usually the cheapest for any household items.
