Pound Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups butter
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 10 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3 cups sifted flour

Directions

Cream softened butter in large mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Gradually cream in sugar. Add eggs, 1 at a time, and beat 1 minute after each addition. Add vanilla. Fold in flour and beat until smooth.

Pour batter into greased and floured tube pan. (If a bundt pan is used, fill pan to about 1 1/2 inches from top and pour remaining batter into small loaf pan.) Bake at 300 degrees F until cake tester comes out clean.
