Plastic milk crates make great closet organizers for stacking clothing. The old sturdy milk crates are pretty hard to come by at this point, but you can purchase light weight plastic crates at the dollar store or department store that work just as well.

They are fairly cheap, I get some at Garden Ridge for under $3. They are indeed sturdy and a good size for storing so many different things.
