Did you know that ants are good for your peonies? They lick the sap off of the flower buds to help them to open. Never wipe off the ants!

I love my Peonies, ants and all. I have some white peonies that are from a plant my Grandmother had in her yard. Sadly, she died in 1940, a year before I was born. But I feel blessed to have these peonies, knowing they are from her garden.

This is true. Peonies will die WITHOUT ants on them. Don't make the mistake my neighbor did and spray for the ants. The healthy plant died after the ants were removed! Happy planting!
