Thanks so much!! Disappointed to say the machine burnt up when I plugged it in, made a grinding noise and shavings of rubber came out the bottom, bummer, bought as a gift to brother. The first one I bought him about 7 years ago and he used daily, he said he had no idea how many dates he would get from it. lol

Peggy ,this is from my Breadman recipe book and I've made it too many times to count.it wonderful.
2.0 Lb loaf
1 1/4 cups + 2 Tbsp water
2 Tbsp Canola or Vegetable oil
2 tsp salt
3 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp Dry Milk Powder [I use a cup for richness ]
4 1/2 cups White Bread flour
2 tsp Active Dry Yeast.

place the ingredients in the pan just as they're given.water first,Canola oil next etc....
to make some wonderful Garlic bread out of this recipe,I add about a 1/4 of a cup of Garlic Powder . and if I want Cheese Garlic bread,I add a cup of Parmesan Powdered cheese to the mix. it is soooo good my neighbors asks for a loaf once in a while to butter and toast in a skillet. I give all my friends this for Christmas along with a big pot of spaghetti,I've never had a complaint yet.

Breadmaker Mix

Recipe By :
Serving Size : 0 Preparation Time :0:00
Categories : Mixes

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
13 cups bread flour
2 tablespoons salt
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup dry milk

Combine all ingredients. Label, seal and use within six months. Makes
about 14 cups mix.

To make a small loaf of bread:

1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
2 1/4 cups Breadmaker Mix
1 tablespoon butter, margarine or vegetable oil
3/4 cup warm water

To make a large loaf of bread:

2 teaspoons active dry yeast
3 1/3 cups Breadmaker Mix
1 1/2 tablespoons butter, margarine or vegetable oil
1 1/4 cups warm water

Mix and bake on Light setting per breadmaker directions.

Variations:

Sweet Bread:

Add 1 tablespoon of sugar with dry ingredients. Break 1 egg into
measuring cup, fill cup with water to amount called for in recipe.

Cinnamon Raisin Bread:

Add 1/2 cup raisins and 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon. Glaze with powdered
sugar glaze, if desired.

French Bread:

Eliminate the butter or vegetable oil.

Basic White Bread

1 1/4 cups water
2 tbsp powdered milk
2 tbsp oil (I usually use canola)
1 tsp salt
3 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1 1/4 tsp yeast

Just use the standard wet on the bottom dry on top mixing process. This is delicious with butter and honey while it is still hot.

I love my bread machine. Check www.oster.com - there are lots of recipes and tips and you can print the whole booklet if you want. The white and whole wheat bread recipes (the only ones I've tried so far) are easy and very good.
