Raw Apple Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 6 apples, chopped
  • 1/2 cup nuts

Directions

Cream sugar and margarine. Add eggs. Add sifted dry ingredients. Add apple and nuts. Bake in greased pan at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes.

Recipe: Raw Apple Cake

Ingredients

  • 4 cups raw apples, unpeeled and diced
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup nuts
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3 Tbsp. fruit juice or water

Directions

Sift together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, allspice and salt. Cream the shortening and sugar. Add the eggs, apples and nuts. Add the fruit juice or water. Add the sifted ingredients. This will be quite thick. Spread in 9x13 inch lightly greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees F until done, 35-45 minutes. Serve either hot or cold with whipped cream.

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cup flour
  • 1 tsp. ginger
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 1 cup raisins (opt.)
  • 1 cup black walnut meats
  • 4 cups tart apples (sliced thin)
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions

Cream together shortening, sugar, and eggs. Add dry ingredients, mix well. Fold in raisins, nutmeats and apples. Bake in 9x13 inch greased and floured pan for 50 minutes at 350 degrees F.
