I purchased a dishwasher less than 2 years ago there was a problem with a gasket and it leaked slowly and started warping my cabinets. Frigidaire took care of the problem since it was a defect and they had a new splash kit. Now 9 months later the same problem again more cabinet damage and they will not fix the problem just offer me a 50% rebate. What is that? So now I can go purchase another dishwasher plus pay for delivery, taxes and installation again because they has a faulty product. Not to mention my extremely expensive cabinets that have damage in a home less than 2 years old.

I also have one of these POS Fridgidaire dishwashers. It is not even a year old and from the get go it sucked big time. Did not wash the dishes good even after pre-rinsing every dish that went into it, stopped working after setting it to wash...would walk in and find it turned off when I knew I had turned the dang thing on, now.Water leaking out from under the door! I am pissed off. This is wrong. The company should be put out of business for selling an absolute POS to consumers knowing the dishwasher is dangerous, can start fires, circuit boards burn up, unit does not wash good, soap door does not open all the time, turns off in cycle, and leaks water all over your kitchen floor! I am so mad about this. Never had Fridgidaire before and never will buy again. Ever. I wish someone from this POS company would come and mop up my kitchen floor for me! I just had to mop my kitchen floor up from all the water this stupid dishwasher leaked out just now; thus the reason I am on here reading and I see I am not the only person who has had problems with their POS Fridgidaire dishwashers too! Never again will I buy a Fridgedaire product!

Frigidaire PLDB999CC0 dishwasher, ~4 years old. Control board caught on fire where the power connects (dishwasher was OFF). Luckily we were home at the time.

My husband brought home our $700 Frigidaire dishwasher purchased at Lowes in December 2008 as a surprise for me and this past week the dishwasher stopped running. When I pushed random buttons and it cleared and started running again, I opened the door and it wouldn't stop running, water spitting out at me and it wouldn't stop. This is a piece of stainless steel junk. I now come into the kitchen to find it randomly running on Sanitize mode with an error message on the front. How dangereous! Must be a basis for a class action law suit or something?

the model number of the frigidaire that ingnited on us is PLDB999CC0.

I hve yet to hear back from the manufacturer regarding the issue. If I dont hear from them, just sent off another email, I will report to http://www.cpsc.gov, which I should have done already and urge others to follow before a life is lost!

My husband thought it would be a great Christmas present to buy me a Frigidaire dishwasher instead of the other stainless steel dishwasher I had picked out. The Frigidaire has only managed to put him in the dog house on a regular basis. The Frigidaire is noisy and does a terrible job of cleaning the dishes and we rinse the dishes before loading. The bottom rack doesn't slide in/out easily. It has to be picked up by hand to move it in/out of the compartment even when there are no dishes loaded. I have had to call service twice in the first year. My previous dishwasher which was 15 years old was a much better appliance. This was our first and last Frigidaire product.

A friend is trying to learn if anyone else had a Sears/Kenmore Dishwasher Model 587.1518, or any model number similar to that, start to burn, smoke, overheat, or otherwise seem to be capable of causing a fire. "587" in a Sears number likely means it was manufactured by DM(Frigidaire). They are not sure of the exact model number, because their house burned much of the way. The info on the dishwasher plate was destroyed. The fire department said the fire started inside the dishwasher. Many people have posted info re: fires, overheating, etc.,but we need to know model numbers. Also, if anyone knows a compatible Frigidaire only number to the the Kenmore version of the same model, that would sure help!

They are currently living with relatives. They could use Kenmore/Frigidaire paying for the restoration of their home so they can move back in. There is a problem with the way the insurance policy was written. What a time to discover that, after the house fire! So, since they just tapped all financial resources to remodel the home before moving into it, they have none to do it again. They really need help getting this settled. They bought a mid-range appliance that should not have had problems in just a few months! They worked so hard on this house, that it is not just a house. It is a home they personally struggled to redo inside out and top to bottom virtually every spare minute before and after work around two children over the course of a couple of years. And a faulty appliance destroyed it. Fortunately, no one was hurt. They were not home when it burned.

DANGER. This dishwasher started smoking while it was NOT running as well. It was bought in late 2003, is a SS pro fd/electro gallery. I have other pick Of the board. Luckily my wife was up early one morning, saw it spark, and smelled burning electrical wires. S killed the fuse to it. Never will I buy frigidaire/electrolux again.

Looks familiar? This is my control board. All I can say is that I was glad I was at home too! My entire house smells like burnt plastic now. I will never purchase another Frigidaire appliance.
Are there any lawsuits pending over this?

I am going to go against the grain of most of the reviews posted here. I assume most reviewers are motivated to post comments when they have a bad experience with their product.

I purchased the Frigidaire "Professional" series dishwasher in Nov. 2005. It is in it's 4th year of operation and I have experienced no trouble, no leaking, a quiet operation and clean dishware and silverware.

Assuming that Frigidaire sells thousands of units every year, the number of disparaging posts seems rather nominal. That is not to say that this manufacturer is immune from producing an occassional bad product, but perhaps the number of defective units is statistically appropriate.

I also have Frigidaire Professional series S x S 26cf refrigerator and microwave, and a "Gallery" series ceramic top range. All were purchased in Nov. 2005 and all function as advertised, with no problems.

FIRE for us, too.
Our Frigidaire Gallery dishwasher Model Number GLDB957AQ1 caught fire the other night. We woke up in the middle of the night to a house filling with smoke and an overwhelming smell of burning plastic. We came down to see our dishwasher break out in flames.

Fortunately, we were prepared with smoke alarms and a fire extinguisher, and were able to put the flames out. The fire department came and confirmed that the dishwasher control panel caused the fire.
As someone else said, thank God we were home, or we would have lost everything. Thank God all our children were safe!

We bought our mid-range Frigidaire dishwasher at Lowe's on 2-11-08. 53 weeks later it no longer gets the dishes clean. The O&M Manual is a joke. No wonder our economy is in shambles when big names manufacturers like this produce such crap!.

It caught the plastic panel on FIRE!
The smell was horrific.
Thank God someone was home or we could have lost everything.

WOW are we all in the same boat. The dishwasher has been a piece of junk since day one 1998. Tried to hang in there, just didn't have the cash to replace it. Just found all underneath my cabinets are full of mold. Pulled the dishwasher out and it BURNED a hole in my cabinet! Thank God for the leak or we would have had a fire.

Wow, we thought our problems with our 1 yr old frigidaire dishwasher were from our well water but I see now it has nothing to do with it! It is just a piece of junk. It never cleans! It leaves a thick film on all the dishes, sometimes the detergent door never opens so the dishes get no soap and the stupid thing has leaked from underneath and side of door which has now ruined our cherry laminate flooring!! First and LAST time I will by Frigidaire!

Our GLD2445RF50 GALLERY dishwasher purchased 3-02-07
After 3months the circulation motor went out. It was replaced. The new motor went out and was replaced. That motor then started to get noisy like the other two. The dealer replaced the entire unit. Now after 6 months it is the same problems all over again. The local service is good but the appliance is not. The unit is going to be out of warranty soon, so if I don't modify it myself it probably won't last long. We thought our old Amana(GE) was junk because it only lasted 8 YEARS.

I had a low price Frigidaire dishwasher in my home when I bought it and it finally bit the dust. I bought a new one in August 2008. Right off the bat, it did not work well. The dishes, especially plastic food containers, do not dry and dishes are spotted. They also do not come clean, even things that absolutely ought to. The piece de resistance came when I set it to wash one night as I went to bed. I get up the next morning and it is still going, stuck in the cycle right before the final rinse and dry!!! I call the repair from Lowes. After three tries (it tooka third before my name even got into the computer, no one seems to have a good grasp of the English language) they sent out a local repair person. First they said it was the timer and replaced that. No good, still hanging. So they decided it was the pump after all. Ditto. I get up at 4 am after setting it to wash at 11pm, it is still running wide open. So then they said try it with the "heat water and hot dry" off. It ran through the cycle ok. I tried it on myn own with just the hot dry and it ran. After not hearing from the repair people for over a week (I had let them know there was an issue and they were supposed to be investigating) they tell me it is because of the "cold weather", it is making the thermostat to heat the water "shut off". Mind you we have had some cold weather but certainly not this whole time and I live in Tennessee, not on the Tundra!!!!!! And I keep a heater going in the kitchen all the time for my dog who has heart trouble to make sure he stays warm!!!! This is BS!!!!! I am calling the company today.

Absolutely the worst appliance we have ever bought! It consistently leaks at the bottom of the door due to a poor design of the seal gasket. We cannot load anything in the front of the bottom rack because the spray arm will hit it with water and deflect to the bottom of the door where the water leaks on the floor.

We purchased a GLBD957AB2 when we built our house in 2004. This was not a cheap dishwasher @ $550, and was the upper side of the mid-level appliances before leaping to $800-1000 for a Kitchenaid, etc. This was advertised as a very quiet washer that would do a great job on dishes.

THIS IS THE WORST P.O.S. APPLIANCE WE HAVE EVERY PURCHASED. We are angry everytime we run it and every time we unload it. It is LOUD, and all dishes require significant "pre washing" in the sink, or they don't get clean. We have experimented over 4+ years with every type and brand of detergents, etc.

Service on your silverware is the WORST.

Forget about a little egg on your plate, or peanut butter residue on a knife, or yogurt on a spoon coming off -- IT WON'T!! If you use the time delay after dinner with company (a nice feature), you better do a great job of pre-washing by hand, or the 2 or 4 hour delay will allow typical soil to dry on enough that it will prevent a thorough wash.

We will NEVER buy another appliance by Frigidaire. What a waste of money and dissappointment.
Please don't make the same mistake.

I have had a Frigidaire Model GLD2250RDC for 2 years and have never put a dish in it. I was told by a tech to run it at least once a week, which I have done since I purchased it. Two nights ago when it was running, I went to the kitchen sink and my feet were in water. I have a waterfall coming out of the bottom of the door. Repair man came and said he has to replace the "ARM". Not sure what that has to do with the leak. Has anyone had this problem?

Purchased March of 2008. Since the first day it was installed it leaked. The turbidity filter wasn't installed with a washer and dropped water as fast as it was coming in. This shorted out the unit and kept it from draining, except for on my floor. Called customer service and was transfered to India where they offered little help. I was told that they would put me in contact with the litigation department since the POS ruined my new maple kitchen floor. I received no help and no compensation. They are liars. Since then, I contacted the local repair shop for Electrolux and they replaced the filter and washer. Now it only leaks on the dry cycle. The steam seems to be condensating inside the front panel and leaking onto the newly replaced wood floor. We have had the repair man out to three times to replace the seals, latch and still it leaks.

A contractor put in the bottom of the line model Frigidaire Dishwasher (1050RES5) and it did not clean and left dishes streaked with white stuff and smelly. When I called, the woman said you had to "prime the pump", that is pour water into the bottom until you could see it not going down anymore. BUT, the kicker is that she told me the dishwasher would not work unless the water temperature going in was between 120 and 130 degrees and I could check it with a candy thermometer at the sink. She said if it was above 130 degrees the computer malfunctions and eventually breaks. This seems crazy. My water heater is nearly inaccessible outside and I am an older person who cannot manage well. Also the setting on the water heater are "high, medium, low" and i don't know how a person could make sure of the temperature anyway. You would have to not take a bath or do a hot water laundry before and during it's use and I don't know if hot water heaters are made to keep water between such exacting settings. She said it was this way because it is "energy efficient". I also would tell everyone to steer clear of Frigidaire products.

Purchased the Frigidaire Professional Dishwasher in December 2006. It has broken 6 times and "repaired" six times. Frigidaire promised to replace it twice and has backed down.
Unit finally quit for the 7th time on Christmas Day. Frigidaire will not stand behind promise to replace my unit yet again, but offered a partial refund....
This company has the worst customer service. They do not stand behind their products.
Will it take a house fire to finally recall this unit?

Bought a new Frigidaire dishwasher at Lowe's that was installed on 12/15/08. Today I returned unit and bought another brand. The control panel was faulty and wash cycles never completed, leaving 1-2 inches of standing water in bottom of tub. Very unsatisfied with this product.

I got a "good deal" on the FDB1500LFC0 model at Lowes in December 2007. What was I thinking? This is the biggest piece of crap on the market. The soap dispenser seldom opens. When the door does open, the dishes come out wet even in sanitize mode. Today the darn thing just completely stopped working. It is now three weeks out of warranty. A plumber friend says it's the control panel and that I'll come out cheaper and less hassle to just replace this piece of junk with a real dishwasher.

My wife and i thought it would be a nice Christmas gift to replace her mom's 28 year old dishwasher w/ a more modern unit. But spending 7 hours after hooking it up today trying to get the water to stop pouring out of the door seals i realize what an ass i am for trusting an electrolux/frigidaire product.

I am returning this p.o.s. tomorrow!By the way if you make a dumb purchase like this and need customer support you can forget about it. They work better hours than bankers and god forbid you do reach one of these mental midgets they'll only enrage you!

Bought a 24 inch model Nov 17 2008 for a charge of $468.00 MODEL PLD4375RFC241564654.I had to wait till 12/13 to try it out after my counter tops were placed in my redone kitchen. My counter tops over the dishwasher were 90 degrees as the steam and water were trickling out during the wash cycle. Just what you want for a new kitchen. Despite service contract I disconnected the unit brought it back to the salesman who suggested I buy this piece of garbage with him asking me why would i choose that junk[guess he did not remember]. Obvious problems with insufficient weather stripping inside the unit.

Another tell tale sign, they are now giving this unit away free if you are willing to buy the refrigerator, stove and micro they will give you the dishwasher FREE which isn't worth the steam, water, mold and mildew damage that will certainly occur afterward. Very poor model.

Frigidaire Gallery stainless steel model, bought it July 2004. Started leaking July 2005. Then the bottom dish rack stated to decay with pieces breaking off of it. Now the motor keeps overheating in wash mode. Repairing this piece of S#@T will far exceed buying another new dishwasher, most likely a "Whirlpool". The only upside I have seen by these posts is that at least I could see where my leak was coming from, "the bottom of the door" so I could catch it in a pan when I would use it. So at least I don't have to replace my floor too. Good luck and don't put a red cent into these piles of junk, just get a Whirlpool.

We have had a stainless steel 4300 Aquaserge Frigidaire dishwasher for just over one year now. I thought it was working well until I noticed a black spot on the side of my oak cabinet. When we pulled out the dishwasher, we discovered that the whole panel was swolen with water. I checked the hoses for leaks but it seems more like condensation damage. This dishwasher does not vent out the front so it has damaged my oak cabinet. I noticed there is a posting by Jean T and she sounds like she is describing the same problem. I have tried everything to correct the problem......putting more sealer on the side and bottom of the cabinet, sealing al joints with caulking but nothing is helping. I am going to call the company regarding this problem but does anyone else have a problem like this?

I have the front load washer we bought it about 4 months ago and yes it cleans very well but the problem is that it rips my clothes they get caught in the front in the little pocket and it does not matter if I only have one thing in there I'm not overloading it. I just bought the dishwasher, but I bought it as a used portable. I hope that I don't have any of those problems. I have not used it yet and I'm scared to use it now.

They make the WORST appliances. My dishwasher is 2 months old and the door latch broke - this is the second Fridigaire dishwasher we have had, and the other one's latch also broke. Cheap assembly. BTW, don't buy their refrigerators, washing machines or ovens either, unless you want to have the repairman over to your house every other day. Get a Whirlpool!

Brand new dishwasher replaced a 4 year old kitchenaid. Should have spent the extra money and stayed with kitchenaid. All new applicances for new kitchen, so bought stainless steel. Kitchen aid dishwasher was black on the outside. Well, the top rack is flimsey, weighs down when full. Hard to push in. Bottom rack, can't put too much in doesn't fit a whole meal's worth of dishes, my kitchenaid was larger inside, although the same size 24 inches. Cup opens up with detergent left inside. My water is on the hottest on my water heater, can't go any higher. Now it is coming on and my electrical curcit box is humming, stops humming when cycle changes. Had electrician here, changed curcit breaker and moved it, checked under dishwasher , it is getting correct voltage. Big problem, told not to use it by electrician, could cause a fire. I should have stayed with kitchenaid appliances, i tried to save some money, big big mistake. I want this dishwasher out of my home. Repair service coming tomorrow. Talked to someone in the Phillipines! Stay away from this company, their products are junk!

We have a 10 month old frigidaire dishwasher and we had the controls changed on it once already. The upper rack wasn't cleaning at all. The first guy that looked at it said our water supply line wasn't big enough! Come to find out the upper rack wasn't working. Very disappointing with this $700 dishwasher. Will not buy Frigidaire ever, ever again.

We purchased what we was a higher end($650) 3000 speed clean Frigidaire Dishwasher ( Gallery series) and despite limited use ( run 4 times a week), no end of problems. The control panal fried in first year, now fried again. The soap dispenser leaks, and now the top spin arm has broken off. In 2 years, as compared to our previous Maytag, that never broke, but felt we should just retire it after 15+ years of use.

My dishwasher is 1 1/2 years old and it worked fine until about a month ago now it shut off mid cycle. I've called Frigidaire and can not get any help at all or even a question answered. We have had this Frigidaire dishwasher a year and it has been been visited by the repair man 3 TIMES! I hate it. The spray arms have fallen off, it pours water out of the door (there is no bottom seal folks#!@!) and now the control panel has died. I will never again buy another Frigidaire product.

Currently our Frigidaire Gallery Stainless Steel, top of the line and now 10 months old, is on the fritz AGAIN due to the electronic controls freaking out. Control panel has been replaced twice; now our local dealer says Frigidaire will replace with a new unit. Yikes. I will DEFINITELY be checking for water leaks, smoke, and melting plastic. Ours also has a non-opening detergent door at times!

I have a Frigidaire Gallery "dishwasher" also. It leaves the white residue also. Soap door won't close, It NEVER gets the dishes clean. There is mold growing around the door and even on the sprayer bars! What is with a dishwasher that can't even keep it's own inside clean? I've even run it empty and none of the mold and dirt came clean. It's a total piece of crap. Never will buy this brand again.

I bought the basic frigidaire dishwasher about 22 months ago. It has never worked right. The control panel does whatever it wants. The soap dispenser door doesn't open half the time, door won't close. Start button won't start the unit, then it won't stop running. ( i have to just hit the " cancel" button after an hour or so to turn it off. ) I have an extended warranty through electrolux which is a joke. They will never replace an unfixable appliance, but they WILL refund your full purchase price of the extended warranty. Seems like that's the route to go and put the refund money towards another dishwasher but not a frigidaire. Never ever ever will I buy another frigidaire appliance. They are junk!

I bought a dishwasher in October 2006. Since then I have had it repaired because it wasn't washing the dishes properly. One morning I noticed my laminate floor was ooozing water. We called Roto Rooter after State Farm advised me to call a plumber. The main water line was leaking water and it ruined the kitchen. Now I am out of a dishwasher. The insurance company covered it but they are going after Frigidaire for the deductible. I think I will just do the dishes by hand, it is less hassle!

This is the worse dishwasher I have ever had. It never washed good from the beginning then just after 5 years motor went. Year later washer will not start up. I have never been so upset with such a horrifying product. Better you make dish towels. Really is not funny would not even think of purchasing anything with a frigidair name on it. You should help people with all these lemons.

We have a 14 month old top of the line Frigidaire dishwasher. While in warranty we had it serviced 6 times. Now it is 2 months out of warranty and we have a new, different problem. The dishwasher runs, but does not shut off. My wife and I have agreed that we are going to buy a new dishwasher rather than spend money to get this piece of crap repaired. This has been the single worst appliance purchase ever. Avoid Frigidaire.

We are in the same boat with a BAD Frigidaire DW. We bought it at Lowes 7/28/07. A couple months ago the soap dispenser stopped oppening and the unit will only air dry. A tech came out and replaced the dispenser motor. He didn't test it and it STILL doesn't work. He didn't even check the heating coil. We called back to Frigidaire and was told if our water temp. wasn't 120 degrees, the unit wouldn't work! never heard of this before (this is the 5th house w/ dishwasher I've owned). Still haven't gotten resolution- Won't buy another Frigidaire.

Randy, I have the same problem right now. Looks like fire started between the power terminals of the main circuit board. Luckily, we were home and smelled it before any major damage to our home. I've put in an initial request to Frigidaire. Unit is close to a year old if I had to guess.

What action are you taking on this? B

I have a Frigidaire dishwasher that just caught on fire. luckily I was home and kicked the breaker off in time. After it cooled off I took it apart and the control board had caused the fire- anybody else find this to be the cause.

Purchased a new Gallery dishwasher four years ago. Last summer it broke down and the store we purchased it from had a free extended warranty. They replaced the main circuit board three times and all the other electronics two times. The appliance store finally pushed Frigidaire to replace the dishwasher under warranty that was in July of last year. Today we went to start the dishwasher and the story started again. A blinking CL and can't get it to run. I will go to the appliance store on Monday and tell them to sell me something else.

Mine just caught on fire as well. We came home from a Sunday drive to find the unit pumping out smoke when it wasn't even on. As we approached it, it was just starting on fire. We were able to extinguish it and quickly disconnect everything. Originally I was just looking for Frigidaires numbers for repair when I ran into all of these horror stories. I'll let you know how this goes, but if I get the same experience I see here, it will be a class action suit. Thanks for your input. Feel free to share additional input.

Purchased a stainless steel Frigidaire dishwasher in December 2003 from Lowes. Had the dishwasher for five years no problems until today. Appliance Tech advised the motor is burnt out and it will cost approx. $350.00 to repair. Not sure what the lifespan of these appliances are but, my wife and I do not have children so the use of the dishwasher is rather limited. Just F.Y.I.

I purchased the Frigidaire dishwasher and EVERYTHING that I put in there that has metal on it will come out with what looks like RUST spots. REALLY WEIRD. Not sure what it is. But essentially all my pots/pans, silverware, cutlery tools are aesthetically destroyed.

I purchased Frigidair Professional Series appliances for my home last August. Not quite a year, but I have no problem with any of it. We have the double ovens, ceramic cooktop, dishwasher and side-by-side fridge. So far all of it runs great. I love the stainless steel that frigidaire offers. In fact, all of my friends with stainless steel are jealous because it is hard to make a fingerprint on this stuff. It stays clean and beautiful. I love my frigidaire appliances... so far.

Um, you all are scaring me. We just purchased a new dishwasher, gas range, and front load washer/dryer for our first home. The dishwasher is leaving HEAVY residue and I have a water softener and have put in the rinse aid, and still can't figure out what's up. We've had it all for less than a week. After reading all this - is it too late to return it all? I'm really freaking out here!

I recently had a breakdown in our 3 year old dishwasher, that could have resulted in a fire. The dry cycle stopped with 36 minutes left, but the heat stayed on. Melted anything plastic including the wheels on the upper rack! We smelled it and had to use the breakers to turn it off. Anyone know of any recalls, etc. If there isn't there should be after reading this page.

DO NOT BUY ANY FRIGIDAIRE APPLIANCES

We Bought a Frigidaire refrigerator in 2006, broke down in 2007 - microporcessor. One month after warranty expired REPAIR COTS = $650

We bought a Frigidaire dishwasher = $550 in Nov 2005. Since then it has broken down 4 times. That's once every 9 months. Each time the electronics got screwed up.

NO HELP FROM FRIGIDAIRE< FRIGIDAIRE DOES NOT EVEN HAVE A toll free number to call.

I will never ever buy another Frigidaire Appliance. NEVER! They are poorly designed, they break down all the time, and FRIGIDAIRE Retailers DO NOT CARE. FRIGIDAIRE DOES NOT CARE!!

FRIGIDAIRE GETS A ZERO RATING FROM US>

Purchased a Frigidaire dishwasher 3 years ago..the heating element broke off the bracket and melted through the bottom. The water ran down the basement wall into the main circuit breaker. Had to call 911 cause the breakers were all sparking.
Shut off main breaker with Fire Department help. Had to replace all the breakers over $900 and now no dishwasher. Looking for a recall on this model and get compensation back from the compnay. Any help would be appreciated of whom to contact.

Puchased a complete Frididaire set of kitchen appliances 4/30/2005. Have trouble with ice maker does not know when to shut off.
Biggest problem is with dishwasher, currently the LCD reads "CL". And advances no further in cycle. My normal applicance repair company did not want anything to do with it. The one company that looked at it said the "main PCB" needed to be replaced. He also stated I could probably buy a new dishwasher for the cost of repairs. Great for less than 3 years old. This would be covered in the second year of an extended warranty but not third year?

We put in a new kitchen 10 months ago and purchased a frigidaire dishwasher.Pl4555RFC In the dry cycle it leaks water vapor that quickly condensates on my cabinets runs down and drips on the floor. After many service calls and a new dishwasher (same model) because they had NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE! The same thing happens during the same cycle. It must be a poor design even though it is their top of the line. Has anyone else had this problem. I can't believe I got the only two.

I purchased a DW for a rent house From Lowes a Fridgedaire. on 8-1-06. Well, it quit just after warranty ran out the pump most likely. All the repairmen I called refuse to work on Fridgedaire products claiming they are crap . I agree. I am going to get a Kenmore & charge it on my Sears card. I have had a Kenmore in my own house for 11 years and never a problem except I don't like the color anymore. Thanks, Leah From Houston

We bought one in Nov. 2004, and it is now leaking all over our basement. We were told the tub was warped 3/4 inches on both sides. I am wondering if that is from the same heating element problem that caused fires for other people! I was feeling sorry for myself until I came to this sight, at least we got this piece of FRIGIDAIRE JUNK out of our house before it ruined our kitchen.

What junk this dishwasher is. The door never really shut well. The pump just went out and it's one of those things do I fix the pump or just buy a new dishwasher. I vote for buying a new dishwasher and getting rid of this piece of junk. At just a little over 1 year old it's falling apart. I will never buy another fridgidare product.

I too have a Frigidaire dishwasher that melted a hole in the bottom of the tub. This must have been a problem on the 2003/2004 models. It's not like the washer doesn't work, there's actually a hole in the tub. This is a huge fire hazard and should prompt a recall.

Anyone else have a similar problem?

I was doing a web search hoping to find someone who could help me with a useless Frigidaire dishwasher. Through the first year, while still under warranty, they were able to fix the door seal and the door latch but they still could not get the dishes clean. They were going to replace the digital timer but when I called, because I didn't hear from them, they decided it didn't need one.

After it was out of warranty I called Frigidaire (Electrolux) customer service and explained the situation and they sent out a different repair company. This guy felt it needed a new water valve and called Frigidaire (Electrolux) for an approval. He was told that the dishwasher was out of warranty and I would have to pay for the repair. I talked to the person on the phone and explained my previous phone call to customer no-service. They said they never said they would cover the repair. Needless to say, I paid to have it fixed and it's still a piece of Junk!

I bought a stainless dishwasher to match some other new kitchen appliances, and in a little over a year have had the panel replaced 3 times due to condensation shorting out the keypad. They ended up fixing the problem by putting duct tape over a hole to keep the water out. Also, there is a white residue left on plates and glasses most of the time, and I am very unhappy with the appliance. I would never buy a Frigidaire again.

What on earth are these people talking about? My husband and I moved into this house (which had been refurbished with all new appliances, including the Frigidaire dishwasher), less than one month ago. I have had problems with the dishwasher since day one. We must thoroughly rinse each and every dish that we put in it, the "heated dry" setting neither heats nor does it dry, and I just discovered that the detergent remained in its compartment during the wash cycle. So, basically, my dishes were merely rinsed but not washed. Please, if you are considering a dishwasher purchase, DO NOT BUY a Frigidaire dishwasher if you desire clean dishes!

We purchased a top of the line Gallery Dishwasher 6 years ago when remodelling our kitchen. It recently went on the fritz and neither a repair person I chose (who consulted with Electrolux--Frigidaire) nor a factory authorized repairman could figure out how to repair the problem. A 95 minute cycle takes about 15 minutes. The control panel was replaced 3 times and the motor once...still no working appliance. After I sent a letter they said they couldn't reproduce the problem so more or less too bad. They did say, however, that they would give me a 15% rebate on a new dishwasher of theirs. THEY MUST BE JOKING. No one I've spoken to can tell me how to get in touch with corporate either...can't follow a line of management to any helpful level.

oh, i've had lots of problems with the dishwasher, too. I will never buy another Fridgidaire product again. 2 days after i got it, it started leaking, it doesn't get the dishes clean, it's noisy, cheesy, the door has to be slammed to get it closed, & it is a nightmare. I don't get anywhere with the company, they don't seem to care. I know i'm stuck with the THING & i really hate to see what's to come, since i know more problems will. I can see it's going to be a never ending battle.

My Frigidaire is just under five years old. It recently started leaking out of the water valve. A slow drip that's been leaking who knows how long. We only found out when the floors started buckling. It's only an eighteen dollar part but how do I know when it'll start leaking again? I agree that dishwashers are scary. I'm looking for a tray to fit under it like you can buy for water heaters and washing machines.

I bought a Frigidaire dishwasher in May of 2005 along with a stovetop, thru the wall oven, and refrigerator. It was not two years old in usage/purchase when it started to leak water which went all into our cellar as well as flooding the kitchen floor. When we went to the store that sold us all our appliances, we were told by the salesperson that they sold the appliances, not made them. Now we are awaiting a service person to inform us whether Frigidaire will be the final product we ever buy for our home. Very poor quality and in such a competitive world you would think Frigidaire would produce a better product. it is not the first time I have seen reviews about their dishwashers leaking!!!

My frigidaire dishwasher is 4 years old. It still works, but i came home to find water dripping in my basement. Turns out the heating element in the bottom of the unit BURNED A HOLE through the plastic of the shell, and water has been leaking for who knows how long. I need to make an insurance claim. I'm just lucky we didnt have a fire in the kitchen while we were asleep!
never buying frigidaire again EVER.

I just got one last month for 2007 it has all the bells and whistles. I didn't go for stainless steel exterior or interior. Just white save money right there. If you got hardwater stains you don't want to use a stainless stain interior. My Frigidaire had that new gray interior to keep off stains. So far that works, also has digital display numeric plus LED lights, soild sensor, and everything else plus 1hr to 10hr delay start. I needed 24" huge tub plus energy star and must save water. This one does all of that!

I also save money and install this dishwasher myself really not that hard to do.

I purchased mine 3 years ago--in fact I did my whole kitchen in stainless steel Frigidaire appliances. About year 2 I began to have problems with my dishwasher. 6 months ago I had to replace the entire computer panel. Recently I started having small leaks from this and that..then finally I woke up one day and my entire kitchen floor was ruined...a leak from the dishwasher valve. As soon as this was replaced the hub from the diswasher was leaking which means a new dishwasher. For me, this has been the dishwasher from hell! I have about 3 thousand dollars to my property as a result of leaks from it plus the dishwasher must be replaced. When the valve leaked it was located in such a way I could not detect the leak...it went directly into my subflooring where it was absorbed. I never saw water. The top of my floor and inside my cabinets were dry as a bone. I had anticipated I would get at least 10 or more years service out of my machine. Perhaps it was made on a Monday...I sure got ripped off on this one! Water leaks are scary, especially when you have an upstairs kitchen. It left me wondering if their parts come from Mexico or something. Now I have had trouble with my Home Owner's Insurance as far as the floor is concerned EVEN THEY have difficulty discerning that one machine can be so flawed....as they say to report a water leak within three days...I couldn't tell what was what with this dishwasher. I thought it was repaired and then something else would happen--so now it looks doubtful my homeowners will pay for my floor and ceiling.
