Boston Baked Beans

Not a personal favorite of mine, but here is one my dad used to love! If you are a white bean lover, you'll probably like this one!

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs. Great Northern Beans
  • 3/4-1 lb. bacon, cut in small pieces
  • 1 lb. brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. salt

Directions:

Soak beans overnight. Drain and put in baking dish in layers of beans, salt, sugar and bacon. Cover with cold water and bake in slow oven (250-275 degrees F) for 4-5 hours, covered. If desired, a small onion can be put in center of pan. (Also can parboil beans for 1 hour before baking.)

Servings: 8-12
Prep Time: 15 Minutes
Cooking Time: 4-5 Hours
