Body Fitness Before Surgery |
|
|
I am going in for another back surgery in a few months. I got a real good deal on a temporary membership at the health club after I explained my surgery to them. I suggest this for anyone going into surgery. I am going to go in every day and do low impact leg and arm exercises, then spend time in the hot tub. I'm so weak right now, it would take me twice as long to recover if I didn't tone up a bit.

I had my right knee replaced a month ago and had been going to Curves prior to surgery. As a diabetic, the surgeon wasn't sure how I would heal. I've done very well, and was allowed to drive home after the staples were removed (10 days after surgery). I would recommend exercise prior to surgery to strengthen muscles.

Please take care of yourself and do as the doctor says. I will miss your tips, whenever I see your name, I usually gave a pen and my tip book because I know that you will have a good one. Keep us posted on how you are doing.

You are wise to tone up before surgery - it's bound to help speed up your recovery. Will look forward to seeing your posts again. Best wishes.

I hope your surgery goes well. We'll miss you & your great posts.
I, too, joined a gym to get back some energy after radiation treatment.
