Dried Clay in Vase?

I need help. I have a horn shaped vase that had beaded flowers in it in the 1960's. The clay has hardened for the past 4 decades. I want to clean the clay out. Any suggestions?

put the vase in the microwave for a few seconds---it will soften from the outside in.

Or you might try dunking the vase in hot water for a few minutes....

(I'm a bit wary of microwaving vintage ceramics - it might break)

For platisticine or modeling clay. try using a hairdryer on high for about 30 seconds. It should soften the clay. If it is a floral foam clay just soak in water for a while.
