Choosing a Cupboard Color?

I have medium color laminated flooring with dark marble green/black counter top. What color should I paint the cupboard. The wall is light beige.

How about a stain? A dark green or grey would look nice.

We have a similar color situation, and just finished remodeling our kitchen/living area. The contractor suggested that we go with a Burnt White color. We have a kiwi green granite top, red oak hardwood flooring, and a buttercream color of paint on the walls. The burnt white looks awesome.

I have cream tile on my floors, black antique granite on my butcher block with a cream base. My appliances are stainless, I also have an antique black kitchen table and caramel, black, and cream granite around the kitchen. What color should I use to paint the cupboards?

Black would make sense, but if I change my tile floor (which is old) black would be too dark. My gut tells me cream. Thoughts? What about hardware on cream? Also, can you paint the hinges instead of taking them off?

How about bright red? Or bright yellow? I think a kitchen should be a cheery place so that is the reason for my suggestions. Even a bright, bright blue or an aqua? These colors would go well with the cream colored floor.

Red! I think it would be gorgeous and striking.

Yes, you can paint the hardware, but you must take them off the cupboard first. After you've removed the hardware, spray a primer designed for metal and let dry. You can then spray them whatever color you like.

I personally like the hammered metal type spray paint. I have used this method on thrift store metal picture frames, brass vases and other metal objects. They look brand new! And I only spent pennies.

Yes red, unless you have a small kitchen in which case red cupboards might be overpowering. Or caramel or yellow. Definitely no more black. I've tried painting hinges, found the paint inclined to 'blob' and drip off but perhaps I wasn't careful enough!
