Kids get bored during the summer and taking them places can get expensive. Try doing a craft project once a week. Something easy and cheap. Make paper hats out of newspaper, make paper planes out of computer paper. Use old can good cans to create stilts, dough out of flour. This will fill time once a week and you won't feel guilty about tossing items after the excitement wears off.

Came across the website www.holidayboredombustersforkids.co.uk and found it useful in keeping my kids entertained through the long holidays.
Hope this helps some parents out there!
Cheers, Anna
