It sort of depends on the color of walls and flooring as well, so take that into consideration, unless you are just going to change everything.

A light maple or birch finish would contrast nicely with the black leather. If you wanted to add some color you might consider a cherry finish. There's always the option of doing a painted wood in pretty much any color as well.
