Christmas Glitter Candle Holder
I made this candle holder out of a baby food jar. The smallest baby food jars work the best.
You will need:
All you do is hot glue sequins around the top of the jar to cover the rings where the lid screws on, smear on some elmer's glue and roll it in glitter. Hot glue your small votive candle in the bottom and your done.
This craft is easy enough for a pre-schooler to do as long as an adult hot glues on the sequins first.
I made these for my Sunday School class last year and we lit the candles and sang "Happy Birthday" to Jesus.

These are puppies born to my Rottie. They are 4 weeks old. Aren't they cute? These babies will be this years unforgetable Christmas presents.
All are going to great homes this Holiday. I wanted to share the Christmas pic I took of them. I may use it as a Christmas card next year.

Little Twig Tree for Decorating All Year
This idea can be used all year as well as Christmas. I gathered branches and made sure all the leaves were off and spray painted them white, I found a basic vase, that would accept the white spray paint, I found the little twinkle lights and put those on the branches after they were dry.
Of course, use caution when using the electric lights, also it is still pretty without the lights, look through your decorations or old jewelry to see what you would like to hang from the branches, you can use pretty ribbon, I used mostly clear decorations, and now all year I look for small things to hang on the branches. You can decorate the branches for Easter or just for fun. Also the branches look great with their natural color.
It's a fun idea for kids to help with the decorating part, they could make paper chains all in white or cut snowflakes. You may need to weigh down your vase and branches with rocks in the bottom. This idea can be cheaper than a tree and be used all year, enjoy.

Reduce Overflowing in Fruit Pies
Cut drinking straws into short lengths and insert into pie slits to let steam and juices to escape and reduce overflow. To make a more decorative fruit pie cut holes in the upper crust, use a thimble to cut the wholes and then replace the little circles into place.

I always had problems with my sons stroller getting dirty in the trunk of my car or the back of our truck. I noticed one day that we had a few folding lawn chairs that come in their own storage/carry bags. I got the biggest bag from one of our chairs (that had a footrest attached) and slid the closed stroller in it. All but the front wheels and the handle fit inside. I could also pull the drawstring to tighten around the stroller.
Now whenever we pull the stroller out, the seat part is always clean and dry. It was also easier to carry over your shoulder when not in use by using the strap attached to the bag.

I started a tradition 8 years ago for my son's first Christmas. Every year we MAKE a Christmas gift for the Grandparents and Great-Grandparents and Aunts and Uncles. The first year he was 9 months old and we made handprint pillows. 3 years later our second son came along and he joined in on the fun! Last year our baby girl joined the "team" and joined in on the tradition. Every year the kids look forward to the tradition, as do the Family members who receive these treasured gifts. We also make this craft for at home and it has a special designated area each Christmas.

Keep the Change Account at Bank of America
For those of you that already bank at Bank of America this is great, others may want to open an account to take advantage of this one! There is a new saving aid called keep the change, you use your debit card to buy things and the amount you spent is rounded up to the next dollar and daily dumped into your savings account, but the great thing is for the first 3 months they match the amount 100% and thereafter 5% and this matched amount will be dumped into your account on the 1 year anniversary date you began, you would not believe how fast it adds up, I have been in this plan for 1 week now and the total for my savings which would be match and all is $14, and this is just 1 week! This is money I would of never had otherwise!

What I really like to do is, collect pine cones. Then put them in a low oven, about 225 degrees for 15 minutes or so. Then I dip them in melted candle wax that was left over from candles I burned. I melt them in an old candle jar on the stove in an old pan with water, on low temperature.
I then sprinkle them with glitter, sequins, or whatever, quickly before the wax sets up. If you use a good smelling wax and put in a nice basket, they smell really good. Maybe add a nice ribbon.
They also can be hung on a Christmas tree, or used for decoration elsewhere. Glued on an evergeen branch, a magnolia twig, whatever.

I have a pal, that recently, she and her hubby have been painting, about every room in their house. She said she'd not noticed any pets in the room. When she turned around to find her kitty about to jump and and she tried to keep him from jumping, but by then the cat was in mid-air and landed in the paint tray and ran through the house, you guessed it, leaving peach colored kitty tracks everywhere!
Trying to get the paint all up before it dried, she didn't tend to the kitty. When it was all said and done, yesterday, she took the kitty to the vet to have the paint all clipped out. Kitty is home doing fine, but having to wear one of the Elizabethian collars for 2 weeks. Needless to say, she said Kitty won't be in the next room while they paint!
So, keep all pets locked up, in a closed room, or outside while doing any home improvement jobs, much less painting.

Creative Birthday Ideas for a Giving Person
I would surely appreciate a creative idea for a 70 year old mom's birthday. Possibly a few game ideas and a neat theme. This mom is very giving to all with herself. She loves the color blue, Mel Gibson, James Garner and Jessica Lansberry. She deserves so much. Thank you for helping me begin!
