At the reception - set up your own slide show (PowerPoint presentation) or hire a professional to walk your guests through when you met - to the present time. That will keep your guests busy while you take photos.
I am working on a slide show for my daughters reception. Is there a rule for too short or too long?

In response to Amy's question, if it is an outdoor wedding, you might inquire about borrowing a PowerPoint projector from a local school or college and then projecting the slide show onto a sheet put up against a wall. Or, if you actually have a slide projector, I think Wal-Mart may still turn photos into slides in their photo departments.

My daughter is getting married in June and even though I have seen slide shows for several occasions I never thought of doing it for the reception. What a fantastic idea! Showing pictures of the bride & groom growing up, dating and becoming a couple would be a wonderful way to pass time. I just hope I can get enough pictures together by then. Also, how do you suggest it be shown? Our reception is going to be held outside following the wedding (1pm).
