- 6 apples
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
- 2 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 egg whites, beaten
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 3 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Mix first ingredients together. Place in 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake at 375 degrees F for 30 minutes. Then reduce heat to 325 degrees F.
Add last 3 meringue ingredients to beaten egg whites. Cover apples with meringue, sealing to sides of bowl. Return to oven and bake 10-15 minutes more or until meringue is golden brown.
