How to Wrap Cylindrical Gifts

Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 204 Posts

Cut wrapping paper large enough to go around the gift, and about 1 and a half inches longer than the bottom and 4 inches longer than the top. Roll paper around gift and tape in place. Fold the bottom of the paper over and tape in place.

Gather or cinch the paper just above the gift and tie a ribbon around the paper. Finally, use scissors to snip the paper from the top down to the ribbon, spacing cuts about a quarter of an inch apart, to create an explosion of fringe at the top.

Hi Marie,

You can curl wrapping paper just like ribbon for another "look".

Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely try it next time I have a cylindrical gift to wrap.
