How does one get assistance on exotic trips for elderly on walker,
i.e. african safari, machu picchu?

You might want to look into a company located in Fort Lauderdale-Cruising Angels they can provide an traveling companion,usally an retired nurse who could assist you on your planned travels

I agree that Machu Picchu would be very difficult with a walker, not to mention the high altitude. Hopefully the link will give you some ideas.

A safari, maybe, with a walker. But Machu Pichu - I don't think so. It's lots of climbing, lots of steps with no railing and the high altitude makes for difficult breathing. We were there with friends and it was the high light of our trip. However, the wife of the couple we were traveling with almost passed out soon into the climb and had to give it up. There's no trolley or anything to take you around. It's walk, walk, walk.
