Coffee Can Bread
Ingredients
1 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1 package dry yeast
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour
Directions
Combine whole wheat flour and yeast in saucepan. Add 1/2 cup water and next 4 ingredients. Warm slightly over low heat, mixing well. Beat in eggs. Add all-purpose flour, mixing well. Batter will be lumpy. Grease 2 one-pound coffee cans, placing half of batter in each. Let rise covered with plastic lids in warm place to 1 inch from top of can. Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees F for 35-40 minutes.

my mom used to use soup cans for making date nut bread for the holidays, just the right size to wrap and give for gifts. Diana in MI
