I recently purchased a dress to wear to my sister's wedding, but I don't know if I should wear sheer or black tights with it (or some other color). The color is "mink" (pale light pink). My heels are slightly open toed and are off white with a black trim. The dress goes down to the tops of my knees. Please help!

I personally would say sheer, as black is kind of taboo for weddings. However, having said that, it is your sister's wedding -- check and see what she thinks is best, if she's happy and so are you, problem solved!

Follow the advice posted here. Black goes with dark colors. Use no stockings or a nude color that matches your legs. I have found that for special events, pantyhose with a "high shine" or "shimmer" look super. You'll pay more, but they are fabulous. Givency, Berkshire, I think Donna Karan, Calvin Klein make shimmer pantyhose. You'll pay for this look--around $12 a pair--but it is worth it for a special occasion. If your area does not have stores that carry these brands, order off the internet--just search for "shimmer pantyhose." Many are control style, so they usually last longer plus controls the tummy! Stockings may show our "age", but they sure do cover up lots of irregularities that younger people don't hink about--like spider veins!

Go for the natural look. Nude or beige - whatever matches your skintone. Can't go wrong with it!

I vote for the pale nylons, the dark ones would look best with a darker dress. Dark legs under a pale dress would look unnatural no matter what your skin color.

DO NOT wear dark tights with a light dress!!
Wear sheer beige hose.
You should NEVER wear hose darker than your dress or shoe colour.
