There's been discussion on this board (and other boards) regarding the unsafe practice of boiling and/or microwaving in Ziploc bags.

Ziploc has come out with a product called Zip 'n Steam for cooking in the microwave:

I love this product. But I normally add an extra min to the cooking time for softer veggies.

The new Ziplock "Steamer" bags are super and come in regular and large size. Microwaving times are printed on the bag to help guide you along. The bags have a special seam that allows pressure to escape but not the product.

I'm wondering how we lived without them till now for steaming veggies.

I often place my veggies or potato or whatever in a ziplock baggie, it has always worked just fine for me. I probably will continue doing this same way. jamish
