Well, I have never personally been on a yacht! ... but I used to work in resturants, and what we used on the stainless steel cooler doors was just plain soda water on a soft rag. It will gleam!

Try Bon-Ami (the scouring powder). It's non-abrasive, but cleans really well. I know it cleans stainless steel b/c I've seen him use it. Use it on a small portion first to see if it gives the desired results first.
