Cheeto 4 yrs old, Had him when he was 8 days old. his eyes weren't even open, he think we are his Mom and dad. He is a full Chihuahua. Cheeto's Mom died and a friend gave him to us.
Cheeto loves to sing to "how much is that doggy in the window". He has a stuffed dog that plays that song. He also loves to play with his electric mouse. He was standing up to get his electric mouse that was on the shelf.

This is the front of my house. All of the decorations except the Garland around the door were made by myself at some point over the last several years.

Rickey is 4 years old and Hobbes is 9 years old
They are both just regular cats. I got Hobbes and Feed Store in Calif when I lived there and Rickey was bought as a birthday present from my Mom.
For fun they like to sleep together and eat.

Stand sofas on end to reduce the space used. Wrap them in plastic to prevent them from getting dirty. If you are moving a dresser, remove items from drawers to make them much easier to move. Then secure the drawers so they don't open in traffic. When you take down paintings and prints, tape hooks and nails used to hang them to the back of the frame. Use a large piece of cardboard to protect the front of prints and paintings.

I had a friend who used to call her meal leftovers "Encores". She said the word "leftovers" sounded bad and would make others dread having it for the next meal. She said this was especially handy when having company. If it were mentioned that, say for instance, "Chicken Broccoli Encore", only you and your husband would know, you'd had the meal previously. Something else she'd do was to never have the same meal, 2 nights in a row. After a meal, anything leftover, got bagged up, identified with dish name and date and stashed in the freezer, for another time.

If you are hiring movers, be sure to ask them what their insurance covers before packing anything yourself. Quite often, they will only cover boxes that they have packed. If you are required to pack the boxes, only put a number on the outside of the box and whether or not the contents are fragile. Then make a list of the contents that each number correlates to. This will help ensure that valuable items don't end up missing.

Keeping Your Floors Clean While Moving In
To prevent footprints in your new home, create walkways with drop cloths where the movers will be walking. If you have a lot of people helping with you move, have half the people unload the truck and half the people distribute the items throughout the house. That way, the people inside can keep their shoes clean or take their shoes off to keep fresh dirt out of your brand new home.

When using canned foods and products, if at all possible, cut both ends off the can and smash the can till it's flattened. If you'll also flatten any boxes, you're going to put in the trash can and bag, the more you'll be able to put in the trash can. Trash bags aren't cheap, but they are a necessity, unless you live in the country or rural area and can burn your trash.

Editor's Note: We can recycle both cans and boxes in my area. Make sure to recycle what you can.

I know that a lot of people with older homes have resorted to using plastic on their windows to eliminate drafts. I used to do this every year too. I checked into replacing the windows but the cost was a small fortune. So here is what I came up with.
Supplies:
Instructions:
I started out by measuring the inside of the window casing. I then ordered the plexi glass and had it cut to my dimensions. My husband then made frames that fit right inside the window casings and screwed the plexi glass to the wooden frames. He used metal screws with a rubber washer and then a metal washer on top. He then put the window clips on the outside edge of the casing.
Prime and paint your windows. The advantage to these windows is that you can still see out them, So you don't feel shut in for the winter. They give you a dead air space between your window and the new storm window. They can be used every year and can be cleaned and stored. They lay flat and can be bungeed together for storage in the eaves of a garage or in a shed.
They go up very easy, you could even get your kids to do :). Total cost of materials was about $ 250.00 dollars but when you think of the replacement cost of a new window that is pretty cheap. Oh by the way that was 8 windows for 250.00. Hope this saves someone some money out there. With heating costs going up these can be life savers.

I just saw this on another site: Go to Home Depot (or other like store) and buy Plexi glass. Have the store cut to exact size of each window you have.
When you get home, set plexi glass into each window and use clear tape to secure.
Saves money on heating costs and they are easy to store. I wanted to share with all of you as this is my favorite site with all the nice people sharing tips and cute photos.

If you rent a moving truck, these tips may be helpful to consider as you load it. Make sure to stack breakable items towards the top and put the items that you want to get to first in the truck last. Load items as tightly as possible to prevent boxes from shifting while driving. If you have any large furniture or appliances that may have a tendency to tip or slide when driving up or a down a hill, make sure to tie them to the wall.

How to Remove Underarm Sweat Stains from Light Clothing?
I have a white t-shirt with sweat stains under the arms. No amount of soaking or washing seems to fix the problem. The shirt is still in good condition so I would really appreciate any advice.

Creative Easter Bonnets or Hats
I know it's a little early but does anyone have any ideas on making Easter bonnets or hats? Something different from the norm would be great, I've already seen a great one involving covering a cap with yellow strips of yarn and adding yellow feather wings, googly eyes and orange felt feet to make a large chick hat. It was cute, but I'd like some different ideas if anyone can help. :)

The Breast Cancer Site Needs Clicks
Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on "donating a mammogram" for free (pink window in the middle). This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising.
Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know.

With the first frost approaching, one of the most vulnerable plants is basil, and it is a sad sight to see blackened dead plants where the day before large basil flourished.
