Do you love the circus? How about a fun day at the fair? Bring both to your own backyard with this adorable elephant ring toss game!

Materials:

  • Smooth, thick cardboard
  • Smooth, thin cardboard
  • Paper towel tube
  • Glue
  • Pink, gray, red, orange, white, yellow, and blue paint
  • Marker
  • Masking tape

Tools:

  • Scissors
  • Paintbrush
  • Large plate (for tracing)
  • Small plate (for tracing)

Steps:

1. Draw a circle using the large plate on the thick, smooth piece of cardboard.

2. Draw two ears on the thick, smooth cardboard

3. Glue the 2 ears to the back side of the circle.

4. Glue the paper towel tube in the center of the circle. You now have an elephants face.

5. Paint the elephant gray and the inside of the ears pink. Add two eyes and a mouth. You may also wish to add cheeks.

6. Draw 3 circles on the thin cardboard using the small plate as a guide.

7. Draw a slightly smaller circle inside the larger circle to create a ring. Do this for all 3 circles.

8. Cut out the circles. You may need to cut through the actual ring to make the cutting easier. If you do, just use masking tape to put it back together when you are through.

9. Paint the circles, each a different color.

10. Place your elephant on the floor and show off your tossing skills! You may want to have different points for different colors. See who can get to 10 points first!

Bonus: Cut out larger and smaller rings and have the smaller rings worth more points. For even harder play, you can hang the elephant on the wall.

Additional Ideas: You can add accessories to your elephant like a hat or a bow tie.
