My sister-in-law is getting married in November. She and her fiance want to have a couples party before they get married. Any neat ideas on what the theme could be? They are wanting to do something in conjunction with a football game. The only ideas that I have are a 'stock the pantry' party. A guy friend is throwing a 'stock the pantry' just for the guys. Any other ides would be greatly appreciated!

I don't want to be a party pooper, but don't you think people spend enough for showers and the wedding gift, without another gift? I do like the recipe idea.

How about a games party? Gifts could be Card games, board games, etc., as well as gift certificates to sporting events, a stadium blanket, gift items with their favorite team's logo on them.

Picnic or camping theme: picnic basket, utensils, camp stove, sleeping bag, tablecloths, grill cookbook, any camping or picnic accessories, could be used for tailgating, too. Other ideas for couples I've heard about: (1) a Booze Party (good only for alcohol drinkers)-bring your favorite bottle of booze and drink recipe; (2) Gift Card party (give gift cards for your favorite store or restaurant); (3) a Party party: gifts would include entertaining items: chip&dip tray, appetizer cookbook, nice platters, punch bowl, etc.

You could do a tailgate recipes party. With everyone bringing their favorite tailgate recipes to compile into a cookbook for the couple to be.
