Today's Tips

Removing Felt Marker and Ink From Your Hands

Spray the skin with marker on it with hairspray. Then wipe off the hairspray. The marker should come off with the hairspray. Hairspray will work for other types of ink as well.

Make a Beautiful Original Tablecloth by Using a Sheet.

Make a beautiful original tablecloth by using a sheet. Just take the top of the sheet, cut the edge down and baste a running stitch along it. You can do this quite economically if you buy the sheet on sale, especially during "white sales". With such pretty prints and/or designs your tablecloth will be a "picasso". Happy sewing. Fresh Smelling Garbage Disposal

To keep your garbage disposal smelling fresh and working good just cut up a lemon or two and 2 or 3 trays of ice and run them thru your disposal. This will clean it and cause it to work great! By Geri In KY

Clean Fruit and Berry Stains Off Hands

Rub your hands with vinegar or lemon juice. For really stubborn stains, rub a mixture of salt and lemon juice on the stains.

Color-Matching Nylons

Good nylons that don't have a match can be made the same color by boiling them a few minutes in a pan of lightly salted water. Source: SaltInstitute.org

Save Money on Your Electric Bill

Here are some ideas to help you save money on your electric bill.

Want to save money on your electric bill? One of the biggest electricity uses is your clothes dryer. Hang your clothes outside to dry. They will smell better. They will not be apt to shrink. You will get some exercise. And best of all it's free. Happy clothes hanging.

By Joesgirl

Clean your clothes dryer's lint screen frequently. When it is clogged up, your dryer has to work harder and uses more energy.

Featured Feedback: Looking for Weed Killer that Won't Kill Grass

Last year a friend recommended using a triple 16 fertilizer. Each fertilizer has its "code" of how much minerals, etc. is in it. Find one that is 16-16-16 and lime.

When we bought our house two years ago, the first summer we fought huge weeds and dandelions. Last summer we only had a few tiny ones and that was at the end probably when the fertilizer, etc. had done it's job.

I was told to mix them together, but I placed one in my push lawn seeder and adjusted the setting to a smaller setting and did one then the other. Just remember to use at least an allergy mask because it is dangerous to get in your eyes and lungs.

We had nice plush green grass and almost no dandelions and absolutely no weeds all year last year.

A Vacuum that Won't Break, For Less!
By Monica Resinger

If you are having troubles with vacuum cleaners breaking, why not get a Shop Vac? They are built to vacuum up nuts and bolts, so how could you possibly break it? The best part is that, the last time I checked (about a year ago), they were only $35 - $40!

New Uses For Old Denim
By Roxanna Ward

If your family is like mine, we live in denim. From denim jeans to denim skirts. We have plenty of denim in our house. With three children, we go through plenty of clothes. Two of these children being boys, many of these clothes are worn out before grown out of. So I found myself with a lawn and garden garbage bag full of no good denim. What is a frugal mother to do?
