Best Gardening Tip
Give Hands a Spa Treatment While Gardening
Use your gardening time to give your hands the spa treatment. Before you put on your gardening gloves, coat your hands with a thick coating of moisturizer. Rake your nails across a bar of glycerine soap to put the soap beneath your nails, and rub olive oil into the nails themselves. While you are gardening, your hands will be moisturized. When you finish, use a nail brush to remove the soap and wash your hands.

Best Recipe
Grilled Potatoes
This quick and easy recipe is always a hit during the summer!
Ingredients
- 4 medium to large cleaned, unskinned potatoes
- 1 onion, sliced or cut into chunks
- 1/2 stick butter, sliced into 4 tbsp.
- Dill weed
- Salt
- Ground black pepper
- 4 sections of aluminum foil (12 to 14 inches each)
Preparation
Pre-heat grill.
Directions
Slice potatoes into 6-8 lengthwise wedges each.
Place potato wedges on to open aluminum foil sections; top with onions.
Sprinkle with dill, salt and pepper to taste.
Top each with a slice of butter.
Fold over top of aluminum foil loosely and crease, then fold up ends of foil.
Place on medium-hot grill.
Cook for 8-10 minutes. Check 1 packet after 8 minutes. If the potatoes are not slightly browned, cook longer. Potatoes taste best when slightly browned.

Best Food Tip
Baking with Cheese
When baking a dish with a melted cheese topping (such as lasagna), which needs to be covered with aluminum foil for at least part of the cooking time, I always spray the foil with non-stick cooking spray. This way, I won't lose half the cheese because of it sticking to the foil.

Best Home Improvement Tip
Custom Shower Curtain and Liner On The Cheap
I have made my own custom curtains and plastic liners and I raised the spring tension rod to near ceiling height. I have used a sheet for the outer curtain and bought plastic from the fabric store for the liner. Using grommets in both was not hard to do. Talk about saving money! If you wanted this look and had them custom made it would be very pricy. I added a valance on a spring tension rod in front of the curtain and liner that slides back and forth.
Tip: There are ceiling lights made to put in showers! A handy homeowner can install one or you could have one installed.

Best Organization Tip
Put Lockers in Your Garage
If you're about to start or have in mind some future remodeling. This idea might be for you. In your garage, install built in lockers, one for each of your family members. So when they get out of your car, they can leave their jackets, backpacks, anything extra in the locker, rather than having to take on into your house and possibly leave or forget to take with them the next day. Let the lockers be the last thing they open before getting in your vehicle.

Best Craft Recipe or Tip
Assembly Line for Making Dolls
I make and sell Raggedy Ann and Andy, quilts and various fabric crafts at our local Farmers Market here in Moses Lake, Washington. If you think that's something you'd like to do with your own talents, let me give you a time saving tip.
For the dolls, Sunday or Monday is cut out day. I cut all doll parts and clothing needed for a few months at a time. Then as I get short on dolls, I spend a few days sewing some up; in assembly line order. The quilts get done in the winter time, and sometimes while I'm sitting at the Farmers Market on Saturdays.
I have the small plastic drawers that I can keep everything organized so I never have to look for body parts or boys or girls clothing. It's so much faster and fun to be organized.
