Ingredients
- 2 sticks margarine
- 1 cup water
- 4 Tbsp. Nestle's Quick
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Frosting:
- 1 stick margarine
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 4 Tbsp. Nestle's Quick
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 cup nuts (opt.)
Directions
Bring to boil margarine, water and Quik. Mix sugar, flour, soda and salt. Mix buttermilk, eggs and vanilla. add sugar mixture to buttermilk mixture and mix well, then add first mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
For Frosting: Bring to a boil margarine, buttermilk and Quik. Add vanilla to above liquid, then add powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time. Then add nuts. Cool and frost cake.
