Interesting, because I just came on this sight asking about my gardenias in the front yard (in Paradise CA) are doing poorly - yellow leaves, little new growth. Yet, the gardenias in the back yard are outrageously health. Front yard has shade and the watering system keeps them moist. The ones in the back get whatever water I remember to give them and are in a sunny location. Hum? I hope someone has some ideas!

We recently purchased a gardenia plant and it has almost died within about 2 days of purchase. What am I doing wrong? We live in Vegas, so it's been very hot, but the instructions say "full sun".
