A means of asexual plant propagation that involves rooting the stem of a plant without completely detaching it from its original root system. It involves wounding the stem and then packing the wound with damp sphagnum moss, held in place and kept from drying by wrapping in plastic. When roots begin to show, the branch can be severed and planted.
