My daughter just turned 10. She got a pedicure set from grandparents and a manicure set and some non-toxic nail polish called Piggy Paint from siblings. She loved everything. The best thing is that now I get pedicures!
I bought two books for my grand daughter when she turned 9 yrs old. The Care & Keeping of You-The Body Book and also The Feelings Book. These are published by the American Girl Co. They were so appropiate for that age. She loved them and her mother was impressed how body changes etc. were introduced.
Check out this website and read reviews about them. There are several other books, but these were kinda compaion books.
