Asking a Guy to a Formal Dance |
|
|
Here are some great ideas from previous years on how to ask a guy to a formal dance. Each school has it's own name: Sadies, Tolo, Sweethearts, Morp, etc. but usually the girl is supposed to ask and pay for everything. Over the years, the ways to ask have gotten more and more elaborate. Post your own ideas below but be sure that they are not too expensive, complicated, messy or dangerous.
Scavenger Hunt
My son just asked a friend to a dance using a treasure hunt. He placed clues in different locations: at a friend's house, a movie theater where he knows the manager, a park, and included a riddle in each one that sent her to the next location.
After she had gathered all the clues, she went home where he had left a poster asking her to the dance, but she had to use the clues she gathered to figure out the poster.
The clues were:
- a piece of rope with two knots in it (for Knots)
- a small stuffed bear holding a scrabble tile E (for Berry)
- a stuffed snowman (for winter)
- a matchbox car same make as my son's car
- a little dancing girl figure (for dance)
The girl responded by baking a cake with a message in it that sent my son to a line on a page in a specific book that said "Behold, my answer is Yes!" He loved it!
Other ideas:
- One of my son's friends rewrote the lyrics to a song and recorded himself singing it to ask his date to prom
- Make a cookie the size of a pizza, use Nestle dough and a pizza pan. Write your invitation on the cookie in frosting
- Create a candy-gram on a poster board using candy to make the message ("Since you are such a [have a Big Hunk bar]...) Use any candy that works: Sweet Tarts, kisses, Starburst, etc.)
Have fun!

Just Ask!
This young man is going to be flattered that YOU are asking him. Don't try and be creative, Just be your self. You are perfect as you are.

Shower Him With Roses
There are many cute ways to ask guys to dances. But it all depends on how close you are to him and how you feel about him. For example, cover his room with rose petals and tell him "Now that I have showered you with roses, will you dance the night away with me? This one is fool proof and has a 90% success rate. Be yourself and have fun! Good Luck!

Some Great Ideas
I know lots of ways to ask guys to dances:
- You can send a rose to each class and then at the last one be there with the last rose and ask them to the dance
- Write it in chalk on their driveway
- Write in on their car
- Get a police officer to give you a ticket or something, and leave the note on their car, that way when they get to their car, they'll think they have a ticket, but really you're just asking them to the dance
- Announce it on the intercom
- Scavenger hunt

Wash And Find Out
One time when I was asking a boy to a girl ask guy dance, I took a plain white shirt and covered it with names of a ton of girls at my school, then on the poster board that said "Will you go to Sadies with me?" there were the instructions telling him to wash the shirt and find out who is asking you. My name was the only one written in permanent marker. He loved it!

Fortune Cookie
Get a fortune cookie, stuff a note in it that says "A beautiful young lady (or handsome young man) will ask you to (name of dance.)" Hand 'em a single rose and pop the question.
I've heard that if you microwave a fortune cookie, you can get the original fortune out and stuff your newly printed fortune inside it, but I've never tried that method.
Successful Ways To Ask
Hey these ideas are way good. here's some I have used.
- Get a box of Lucky Charms and write on it. "i'd be the luckiest girl in the world if you went with me!"
- Cut out pieces of paper in heart shapes and say "i'd have a heart attack if you didn't go with me!"
- Give him a box of Swedish Fish and say, "Of all the fish in the sea, will you go with me?"
Hope that helped some of you guys because your ideas really helped me. have fun on your dates.

Be Sure You Are Asking The Right Person
May be your asking the wrong guy or gal out to the dance? There is probably one nice, respectful person who you overlook due to your high "love/lust " standard. I mean, it's human nature to want the ideal, the sexiest, the cutest person for a date. How about the guy or gal that admires you, that would walk through fire to keep you safe, that would give you his/her coat to keep your warm.
Think about those who are there around and about your life who deserve a chance even if just as friends.

Key to my Heart
I went to my junior prom with a guy I wouldn't have gone with just because he asked me in such a sweet way that I thought, Hey I'll give the guy a chance. If he pays this much attention to me now, imagine what he'd be like if I got to know him
He went to every locker in the hall and put a heart he had cut out of red construction paper over the lock. So it fit like a light switch plate. Then he left a note with the key to his locker and a rose taped to my locker. It said, "Maybe you might have overlooked me in the halls in the past. But take this key and follow it to find me and unlock my heart." I took the key and tried it in every locker, being cheered on by the entire school, who took just as much interest in finding out what was going on. When I got to his locker, it of course opened. There was a tape player that said "Play me". It was playing the classes Prom song. He was standing behind me and tapped me on the shoulder. And said, "Can I have this dance? And if I promise not to step on your toes will you go to Prom with me?"
Well I had already been thinking about going with guy who had asked me months ago, but he was so charming I said yes. We had a n amazing time and I don't regret it for a second. Just be genuine and you'll be liked for who you are.

Keep It Simple
The best way to ask him to a dance is to ask him straight up. Men (boys) are a little slow sometimes and may misunderstand you any other way. With the guy I asked to my school's dance, I tried a creative way of doing it and he got confused. After I asked him plain and straight, he understood me and said yes. This is the best way to go. Good Luck.

Easy, Fun Ideas
I asked a guy by playing hangman once. Another time, on his birthday, I got him a pinata and had him bust it open with his favorite candy and a note asking him to the dance. Never ever got a no!

Cute Sayings
Alright so I read this in a book, but I thought these were the cutest ideas(the first idea being the best, which i will soon try with my bf):
- Write 'It would be MOUNDS of fun to go to (prom) with a BIG HUNK like you. I'm BURSTING to know your answer. Don't BLOW it, and give me a call.' leave your name and number. (** CANDY-MOUNDS, BIG HUNKS, STARBURSTS, and BLOW POPS.**)
- My sister asked a guy out by putting cinnamon rolls in a toy dump truck and then she attached a note that said, 'I'd like to haul your buns to the Sadie Hawkins.'
- My cousin her date to prom by stapling a pair of Superman underwear to a poster and writing on it, 'I'll be brief, come with me to the dance.'
- Put a baby chick in a basket with a note that says, 'This chick would love to go to prom with you.'
Hope this helps and good luck girls.

Asking A Friend
"I'm not looking for kisses,
I'm not asking for hugs,
Just a sparkling night
with one of my buds."
Then you get Hershey kisses and hugs, a bottle of sparkling cider, and a rose bud. then you put your name as one of the papers in the hugs or kisses. ** make sure to leave a hint of where you hid you name. **

Any Questions?
One day in chemistry, my teacher was finishing up a lecture. Before the class ended he asked if anyone had any questions. This kid in my class raised his hand, stood up, turned to the girl to his left, and said "Well, actually, I was wondering if Sara would go to prom with me" I thought it was sweet. Oh, and she said yes.

A Bunch Of Great Ideas
Hey! Here are a few ideas that my friends and I have used in the past have used in the past....
- I made the guy a CD and on the front cover I had a list of all the songs. The first letter of each song spelled out "TURNABOUT?" vertically.
- I had the office send a pass to the guy during classes that said he had to go see the principal. Of course, he was totally freaked out. When he got to the office, I had set up balloons in our school colors and there was a big sign asking him to turnabout.
- My friend used tweezers to take the fortune out of a fortune cookie and insert her own fortune that said "Confucius says that you should go to turnabout with ___." She put it in a Chinese carry-out box and had it delivered to his class.
- Another friend taped a bunch of smartie candies to her pants. The guy she asked is super smart so she went up to him and he was totally confused as to why she had candy on her pants, then she said, "If you're really as much as a smartie pants as everyone thinks you are, you'll go to turnabout with me."
Also, my guy friends like it when A. girls decorate their rooms B. girls bake them food that spell out "turnabout?" and C. when it's totally unexpected
Good luck with that!

Prince Charming
This one worked for me! Make a card and in the front write "Prince?" And when he opens the card, write:
"Every Princess needs her own Prince Charming
Won't you be mine,
Well just for one night?
Winter Formal?"
By Sarah
Slip Him A Note
These are some great ideas! Here's what I did last year for homecoming:
I liked this guy, and we both worked at the local movie theatre, where we have to add up whatever the customer orders in our heads, so I knew all of the prices for everything. Well, I was too shy to ask him in person, so one night, when my mom and I went to a movie, I got the exact change for my concessions, and wrapped up a note in my money that said "I know it's kind of cheesy, but I would totally love it if you went to homecoming with me!". The next day, after marching band practice, he said yes.

Get pieces of red paper and roll it to look like dynamite then glue them together, put your name into one of them and on the outside of them write "It would be a BLAST if you went to ___ with me!" and have them take apart the "dynamite" to find your name.

I am a sophomore. There's this senior that I don't like like but I think it would be fun to go to prom with. Just for kicks and giggles. We aren't great friends, but we live on the same street. He's in my Sunday school class and we have kind of intertwined cliques, so I talk with him and see him a lot. I''m scared he'll say no since it's his SENIOR prom and he might want to ask someone. I'm worried how bad the other girls will hate me for being a sophomore asking a senior :D
Should I ask? How? I was kind of thinking the "I don't need kisses, I don't need hugs, just a sparling night with one of my buds", but we aren't good friends, so will it work? Any other ideas? HELP!
Also there's a friend of mine that's also the best friend of a guy that I used to like, told him, didn't work out etc. I don't want to create awkwardness for them or me. Will it be awkward if I use the kisses/hugs/buds poem above?

I asked this guy in my seminary class to prom by getting a big mason jar, decorating it all pretty and cool loooking in pink and brown, and filling it with tootsie rolls. one of the tootsie rolls had a paper in it that said my name. I made a SUPER cute card that said PROM on front. inside it said Marcus,
A certain toots wants to go to Prom with you! find the tootsie roll with the name in the wrapper!
He didn't act like he liked it, he just put it on another desk, hia friend came up and said it might be for you and he said i don't want to go to Prom, but he started looking for my name, found it, and said oh really disappointed like. not the best way to start a morning, but... what ever. :D during 2nd period he told my friend that he had a game that day. not a straight no or yes but most likely a no. what irritates me the most was that he couldn't tell me! and he had to be a jerk about it. i always thought him as a smart, nice, boy with a good undertanding of the gospel, but not anymore. :D I have 6 out of 8 classes with him too.

I asked my boyfriend to a dance by making a book about a fairytale and leaving it on his car with balloons and bells on his antenna. The book said Once upon a time there was a princess named ____ and she had the most wonderful boyfriend in all of the land, prince _____. The next page said: there was a ____ dance ball to be held on _____ and princess _____ desperately wanted her prince charming ______ to attend this special evening with her. Then it said: if prince____ accepts, he will wear this crown and come to her doorstep tonight(I got a plastic crown and attached it to the back of the book).
He said yes, of course and showed up with a single red rose, the crown on, and the cutest part was that he had one of those horses that is on a stick. it was the cutest thing ever, he is truly my prince charming!

I just asked a guy to the dance a couple of days ago, so I went to his house and went in this room where his mom said we could do it, and we traced my body out on paper in a dead formation. and wrote on the body "I'll die if you don't go to the dance with me" and all around the room i had caution tape all over the walls and floor. and then on some areas of the tape I had the letters of my name. its a way cute idea. you could even do it outside. Good luck!

SOOOO I've been dating Jimmy for two years now!:) (cute i know) He was in his 2nd year of college and he really didn't want to go to prom with me...BUT i knew he and i both knew that jealousy would be a factor if i went with anyone else. SOOOOO i went to stay with him for the weekend and wrote with red lipstick on his white carpet " I know you're gonna be jealous if i go with anyone else, so just go with me and shut your cute little mouth!" He saw it screamed and hit me.....and said i'm gonna punch your face in but we ended up going together because for some reason he loves cleaning carpet!......and he said it was the best gift i ever gave him...a dirty carpet!........It's kinda crazy i know but HEY! it got him to go to the prom with me!....Try this at home! Not don't try this at home this time it's TRY this at home! Love, Claire P.S. GOOD LUCK TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOODNIGHT!:)

My bf asked me prom in such a cute way. We were bored, so he asked if I wanted to go down and use his punching bag for lack of anything else to do. I said sure, and we headed down to the barn (doesn't have animals, just storage kinda thing). He opened the door for me and I started heading in towards the punching bag. He said, "actually, come over here." He hadn't turned the lights on yet, so I made my way through the dark towards him. When I almost got to him, he plugged something in. a HUGE sign lit up saying "WILL YOU GO TO PROM WITH ME?" He had made the entire thing himself; each of the letters was made out of wood and wrapped in Christmas lights! I was so surprised I couldn't even talk! Eventually I got "yes" out of my mouth. He said he was going to hang it up on the outside of the barn, but it was too big and he ran out of time. I don't care, it was already amazing enough! This doesn't really deal with a Sadies, but maybe it will give you an idea!

Me and my boyfriend have been dating for almost two years and this year it was almost two weeks until homecoming and he still hadn't asked me. The weekend before H.C. was my birthday weekend (weird enough we have the same birthday) anyways, I went out of town to the beach for my birthday and when i got back, my room was filled up with almost 400 balloons. There was a build a bear dressed in a football uniform, because he plays football, and it sang happy birthday, it was holding helium balloons, with a sign that said "pop all these balloons to find a special question" After i had popped almost half of them, there was a little piece of paper that read "homecoming?" It was the cutest thing ever!

K all you who need to ask a guy on a sports team...here's an awesome way...i asked a guy on waterpolo like this...he loved it and it worked great cuz he is on sports!! whatever sport he plays get the ball that is used, for example waterpolo ball, you will need to buy four on each one write two words of this questioned. "Will You, Go To, (Whatever Dance) with..." and on the last one put ME. Have them delieverd to his classes, thrown at him during practice, and keep the one that says ME. Go to him at lunch, after school, at practice, or during his last class and throw him the one that says me. He'll know your asking him and its perfect!

Here's a couple ideas:
Get one of those tubs of butter and mix it up so it looks like you put your name or something inside. Then put a note with it that says "Search the butter to find out who's asking you to the dance." Later have someone give them popcorn and a note saying "Just thought I'd 'butter' you up before I 'popped' the question!" When I did this I just gave the popcorn to him myself, he knew it was me anyways. It was funny 'cause he had to change his shirt; he got butter ALL over looking for my name!
If they have a seminary class talk to their teacher and ask them to make the person you're asking to read the scriptures for the devotional. Assign a scripture to read that doesn't exist. When they tell the teacher it's not there have him say (with his scriptures out too) "Oh really? 'Cause it says here 'And it came to pass that [your name] asked [their name] to the upcoming dance." Or something along those lines.
Go to their math teacher and have them ask a "math" problem in the middle of class while they're lecturing everyone. Have them say "If [your name] were to ask [their name] to the dance, how long would it take them to respond?"
My sister's friends were driving once when a cop pulled them over. The cop told them to get out of the car and started to handcuff them. They were almost in tears until he shoved a contract in their face making them sign it saying they would go with these two guys.
Buy a whole bunch of plastic knifes and stick all of them in the person's yard. Make a huge sign saying "Let's 'cut' to the chase...Will you be my 'knife' in shining armor and go to the dance with me?"
Give them a box of Honeycombs that say "Honey, comb your hair 'cause we're going to the dance!"
Buy Goldfish or Swedish Fish and the game of Go Fish. Write your name on the cards with the order they go in on the corresponding card. Have a card that says "Out of all the fishies in the sea, will you be the one to go to Sadies with me? To find my name you have to 'Go Fish!'"
To respond to someone give them a jar of Skittles that say "Count all the Skittles. If there's an even amount my answer is yes. If it's odd, eat one :)"
Another way to respond is give them a football with a note that they have to decipher. Have it say "Did you think I would 'pass' to go to the dance with you?"
I can't remember exactly how this one was done, but...Cover a phonebook on a plate with frosting and stuff so that it looks like it's actually a cake. Find your number in the book and circle it with red. Have a note saying something along the lines of "Will you go to the dance with me? My number is in the cake!" Hehe.
I had an Austrian exchange student last year, and I got to help her ask a kid to Sweethearts. We wrote her name down and cut it up and mixed it up in a package of flour. She drew a flower over a picture of wheat, and added an S so it said FLOURS. She had a note that said "I heard I should buy flours for the dance so I went to the store and asked for some." It worked for her 'cause English was a second language for her (she spoke it incredibly well though...Oh well).
My friend gave a guy a captain's hat with a rolled up paper attached to it. It said "X marks the spot, just look for DJL." She wrote DJL (Davy Jone's Locker) and a big X all over her locker, and rigged it so that you could open it without a combination. He just so happen to walk by the locker later that day and looked inside. She had made a treasure box filled with 'gold' coins and an eye patch (the patch was an inside joke). Inside was her name and a note that asked him to the dance like "ARRR you available for Sweethearts?" I'm not sure exactly what it said.
My friend asked this kid who in return drew a penguin (her favorite animal) with a quote bubble that said "YES." He made it into a puzzle and gave her all the pieces to put together except for the one piece that had his answer. There was a riddle that he gave her that told her where to look for the last puzzle piece to know his answer.
I have a couple more ideas, but I think this is definately enough! Good luck ladies ;)

My boyfriend is into extreme hairstyles, and sometimes it tends to be on the messy side. So for homecoming I bought a box of "Honeycomb" cereal, put his picture on it, tied balloons to it and wrote under "Honeycomb....your hair cause we're going to Homecoming!" He loved it!

Freshman year, the guy I went to Homecoming with set a tagline on his phone so it showed up when you turned on the phone. He's acted upset because his phone was broken and I looked at it for him and I was like "What are you talking about? It's just turned off!" and so I turned it on and nearly closed the phone before I saw "Mal, will you go to hc w/ me and be my gf?" It was cute.
For Homecoming this past year, my boyfriend asked me in the cutest way (he tied one of those gigantic happy birthday balloons to the hose spickett which is right below my window and he made the ribbon long enough where the balloon was right outside my window and had a sign on one side that said: "Mallory- I would feel a MILE high if you went to Homecoming with me. -Matt" cut out in little magazine letters and so I want to top it for Turnabout.
Since he works at an animal hospital, and one of his bosses is our vet I talked to her about my plan to get permission and she's really excited. I'm buying 8 roses (but if you do this, know that different colored roses mean different things) and tying a different letter from TURNABOUT to it and having 8 of my friends bring them in out of order every 20 minutes or so and then I'm calling before I come with the last one with the question mark to make sure he's by the reception area so I can give it to him personally and ask him.
So far, everyone I've talked to about it is really excited about it and wants to help... even my boss!

If you have a dress to wear to the dance, buy a tie that matches it. write a note to the guy that says "here's a tie to match my dress, will you go with me to WINTERFEST" or another cute rhyme. then pack the tie up along with the note and mail it to his house. my sister did this and i thought it was adorable, her boyfriend was suprised :)

I was at my soon-to-be-date's house just hanging out. i decided to have a friend distract him and i went upstairs, wrote in lipstick on his bathroom mirror.. [turnabout?] xoxo_____ i then suggested we play hide and seek. i told him he was my partner and ran to hide in the bathroom. when my friends found us, they switched on the lights and he saw it!! he was so flattered...
another friend asked by putting a note that said [turnabout] inside a ballon and taping it on his bedroom door. on the outside of the balloon it read "Pop me", so he did the the note popped out!

I was a little upset over a recent love issue and my Sadie Hawkin's/Winter Formal came about...instead of moping around over the loser guy, I decided to just ask a friend, but make it really platonic.
I bought a bag of dum dums and wrote on them, "Don't be a dum dum, go to winter formal with me,".
He loved it, and now all of us girls are making up cute ideas to ask our guy friends/boyfriends. I say just really have fun with Sadie Hawkins, it doesn't have to be a romantic night, just ask a friend and dance the night away :)

well...this could work for a guy or girl..my bf freshman year did this for me it was soooo cute!
ok soo he had me pulled out of class by a nark and the nark was like "Jenna come here right now"..and i was like "uhh ok?" and he was like "bring all of your stuff we find something in your locker that we need you to explain right now" so at this point im like crapping my pants casue i was like omg i don't have anything in there! what am i in trouble for?! so i open up my locker and theres a boquet of roses! and a card that said "Jenna will you go to homecoming with me? Love Jarrid" it was sooooo cute!!! and then i was looking for him to say yes but i couldnt find him =[ so i went to my next class and when i got there he was standing out side the door with another boquet of roses!!! it was soo cute i jumped on him and practically screamed yes and every other girl was SUPER jealous cause i got asked the cutest way.. =]
the way i asked him to sadies was pretty cute to..
so i talked to his mom ahead of time and had her take him to the mall...we made him go in through the macys lingere section..on the checkout desk there was a sign with his name on it telling him to go to a food place...first he was sent to sbarros pizza and the pizza said will..and then there was another note that sent him to aunti annes pretzals..so when he got there he got a pretzal and at note that said you go to...mrs fields...so he goes to mrs. fields and there are to cookies that say sadie hawkins..and the note says with...and then it told him to go to the limited and go to the last fitting room to figure out who his date was..when he got there and knocked on the door and i opened it he gave me the biggest hug ever and had the hugest smile on his face and of course said yes..its soo cute and fun!

When I asked my guy to turnabout, I got a poster board and some glow in the dark stars and spelled out turnabout with the stars. Then I snunk over to his house and put the poster board on his ceiling so when he went to bed he would see the stars. he called me right away and said that was the coolest way he had ever been asked.

I gave him butter on his porch. then I left and came back like 2 hours later and gave him a poster that said "now that I've got you all buttered up, I am going to pop the question: will you go to sweethearts with me?" then i put a popcorn bag where it said pop. and he had to pop the popcorn to see my name! cute huh? Then on my way home I almost died. Some stupid driver thought it would be funny to follow me and my friends around, and try to murder us!

My boyfriend is really into playing the guitar, so when turnabout came up last year, I decided to make a guitar-shaped cake (they have guitar baking pans) and decorated it like his favorite guitar. I then attached a sign to the plate saying "it would rock my world if u went to turnabout w/ me" and I put my name. He absolutely loved it!

ive used several ideas..
my freshman year i used a fortune cookie. and the boy i was asking had a world religions class first, so i spoke with his teacher and gave him the fortune cookie. and at the beginning of class. he told everyone that they were going to be talking about fortune today, so he called my bf up to the front and had him open up a fortune cookie for an "example" but on the paper inside i had written "sadie hawkins" and i signed my name... he said yes! : )
and my sophmore year, i asked a guy friend of mine. and i called his mom and made sure it was ok with her first. but i went to papa johns and ordered a pizza that was going to be delivered to his house. but i had them spell out "SH" in pepporonis (for Sadie Hawkins) and then i put a note at the top of the pizza box with my name on it.. the pizza was delivered to his house and he was completly suprised! he called me right when he got it and said yes!
and im about to ask my bf tomorrow night.. i got a clear plate and wrote on the bottom sadie hawkins? (so he can read it through the top, since its clear) and we are going out to dinner tomorrow night. so im going to get to the restaurant early and ask them to use the plate to put our bread on or something.. then that way once the bread is gone, then he will see the bottom of the plate! (lets just hope he wants to eat the bread..)

If he's on a sports team, while he's running laps, put signs up along the track or field saying "Name" "WILL" "YOU" GO" "TO" "SWEETHEARTS" "WITH" and instead of just putting the last sign up, stand there holding the "ME" sign

This is an awesome way! Put a bunch of balloons in the trunk of this car, and a sign inside that says "will you go to the dance with me?" so when he goes to unlock it the balloons fly out and he sees the sign.

i was gonna try taking a huge cardboard box and filling it up with that packing foam stuff, and then taping it shut. write a ton of question marks all over it. and ding dong ditch him. when he opens it, he'll hafta look through the foam in which hell find a few notes that hint "empty me" "tip me over" "dump me out" and a few of his favorite things on the inside, bottom of the box-- write "turnabout?" and then sign your name. My date loved it!

Here are some more cute ideas.
-A girl had the same class as the guy she was asking. When the teacher turned on the overhead instead of the days assignment it had "turnabout?" written on it with his name.
-People also go with the theme of the dance like rock and roll. "Will you roll wit me to homecoming and will rock this town". It was cute.

Wow. So I was thinking about asking my boyfriend to a thing called Tolo. It's just like Sadie Hawkins. I was going to buy a whole bunch of Candy Kisses, go to his house, leave a note on the front door saying "follow the trail for a surprise." A trail of candy kisses would be from the front door up to his room. I would be standing in the room and when he got there I would say "Now that I've kissed the ground you walk on, will you go to tolo with me?".
Cute?

One way I asked a guy to a dance was, I sent a stick of butter to 3 of his classes. Nothing special on it, just the butter, then his last class of the day I gave him popcorn and on it, it said, "Now that I've buttered you up, I wanna POP the question. Will you go to sweethearts with me?" ThenIi hid my name in the popcorn. It's just kinda a fun way to ask. It worked he said yes!

This is what I did my freshmen year. I got a huge box and put pink balloons with pigs drawn on them. Then on the top of the box I put a cute little sign that said " my mom said I could ask you to sadies, the day pigs could fly" then when he opened the box, the balloons with the pigs on them flew up.. On the bottom of the box it said, "Look at that pigs are flying" . He totally loved it and had no other choice, but to say yes.

if you need to ask a guy and you wanna kinda keep it simple but still cute.. then do what i did... I got a box and filled it with a bunch of M&M's and on some of the M&M's i did letters that spelled out "Be my Winter's date?" then i made a poster that said directions: find all the letters in the box, then when you find all unscramble the message hidden in the M&M's. i even gave him hints that said there are 16 letters and i put the M&M's in a red green pattern.
its really fun and cute he loved it and couldnt say no!

I did this a week ago for my xmas dance. I bought a bucket at a dollar store and I FILLED it with Honey Buns ( you know...like the little debbie things..?) and I laminated my name and buried it in the Buns, so he'd have to go threw them and I wrote a little note saying ( and we are both art nerds so I made it all artsee looking and stuff :) ) : " I'd love to take your "buns" to the xmas dance"
that was a week ago..he hasn't replyed yet. i hope i didn't take it to the wrong house.. i just have to be patient.

I always feel weird when I ask guys out on a date, but for the king of hearts, it was different. I called his mom and told her what I was going to do so she told him to go get the car to get some food. while he was on the road I had a police friend of mine get behind him and make him pull over and she gave him a ticket that said, " Would you go with Missy to the King of Hearts dance?" He was so frickin scared he had to say yes...but later on he called me and started cracking up! He LOVED it! (09/02/2007)

This idea builds off the note on the pizza box note idea, but is a little different. What you do is write "This may be cheesy..." on the outside of a box of pizza and "... but will you go to ___ with me?" on the inside of the lid. But then, stick another note on the tray that the pizza itself sits on that says "eat the pizza and give me the box if you say yes, but eat the box and give me the pizza if you say no!" He would have eaten all the pizza by now, so there's only one option! :) (09/06/2007)

Then I wrote a huge sign that said "I want to spread some huge news to you" and then on a full newspaper I put on his bed on the front of it, I wrote as the headline in big letters "WILL YOU GO TO HOMECOMING WITH ME"! Last year, my friend and I were gonna hangout and I was planning to ask him to Winterball that day. At night, we went up to the hills and I had already prepared a whole asking him thing. So after just hanging out for a while I took out a kiddy book and on the front page it said "open me" and then when he opens it, it'll say "turn to page 45" and on that page it'll turn to another page, then after several turning of pages, it ended up on a page that says "turn around" and then once he turned around, I was holding up a fatty sign "Winterball?" yeah cute? idk, but he said yes. RE: Asking a Guy to a Formal Dance
yeah so i read this on another site when i was looking for ideas and i thought it was just the cutest thing in the world!!! k so you put 4 boxes inside of each other and on the very first one write the persons name and to open the box, on the second box write "so I've been thinking...", on the third put "and I've decided...", the fourth write "that it's not healthy..." but on the inside of this last box have a bottle that, on the outside says "to keep your emotions bottled up..." then on the inside put a note that says "So will you go to---with me?" I just thought it was ADORABLE! (10/23/2007)

if the boy has a test sometime before the dance, talk to the teacher before he has that class and write at the very bottom of the test "BONUS: will you go to prom with sarah?" and have a "yes" and a "no" and he will circle one and think its cute! :D good luck! (10/24/2007)

THIS IS A REALLY CUTE IDEA!!!
We have an annual Christmas Dance at my high school. For this dnace in particular we do it "sadie hawkins" where the girls ask the guys. So this year being a senior I was going to ask my date in a really cute way. We have block at our school meaning we have 4 classes a day. So I took plastic canvas in red and green and cut out 4 puzzle pieces so when you put them all together they all fit. On one of the puzzle pieces I put "WILL YOU" and put it in a plaztic bag and the period it was going to and his name on the second piece I put "GO TO" put in a plastic bag with the period and his name on the third piece I put "X-MAS DANCE" put it in a plastic bag and put his name and the period that it was going to and on the last piece I put "WITH ..." put it in a plastic bag with his name and period that it was going to and then i wrote on the bag "MEET ME IN THE COURTYARD BY THE STATUE @ 2:30". So when 2:30 rolled around he walked out there to meet me and I had mad a shirt with a puzzle piece that sad "ME?" in it like I was the last piece to the puzzle and he said YES of course (10/26/2007)

For baseball theme for your man; have baseballs leading to up/down to his room. Then have the door close and be standing in his room with a huge blow up bat and a sing saying. I'll let you hit it, if you go to Sadies with me. Totally kinky. (10/31/2007)
