Does anyone have the pattern for Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus made from old Readers Digest books? My great aunt made them years ago, and I'd like to make some now. I'm sorry but I don't have a picture to post. I know you folded the pages somehow, then painted them, added red felt, a black belt (felt I think), belt buckle, cotton for the beard and hair. Any help is appreciated.

I received these as a gift from my mother back in the 70's. It's nice that the pattern is available online. Mine were stored for a few years & had some damage to the bunting which I removed and will replace. It was nice having them as my centerpiece again.

There use to be a Christmas Tree that I made from Readers Digest but do not remember what to do.
Can anyone help please?

Thank You! Gloria

These are so cute. I remember making bells from a readers digest but we had a cardboard pattern for folding the pages from front to back and then back to front. Does anyone remember this one. I would love the pattern again. My neighbor friend kept us occupied with this precious craft.

Wow! That brings back memories! My Mom made them when I was little, and I "helped" her. We used them for many years. I'm gonna have to find some old Reader's Digests in order to make some!

Thanks for asking about these.

Here's another good site. It also has directions for a snowman!

Thank you both for your help! The one from the Santa Museum is exactly the one she made! The one from All Free Crafts has an excellent picture with it. I'm so happy to have found the directions again! Thank you both sooooo much! I'll try to post a pic if I can figure out my digi cam and get some batteries that last for more than 2 or 3 pics.
Hugs, Paula

Hi Paula! I found these directions, with no picture, on the Santa Claus Museum site: http://www.santamuseum.org/awalkthroughtime.html Perhaps you can take a picture and post it when you've made one. It would seem that photos of this project are scarce. Since you remember your aunt's Santas, you can probably figure out the directions easily. I look forward to seeing the finished Santa!!!
