I lived in Saudi Arabia for a few years back in the 80's. Did you know we women have to cover ourselves completely to go out shopping? Also, women were not allowed to enter certain shops or restuarants. There were signs that said, "Women will not be seated or served here." Based on that, you could have the women wear black robes (abayahs) and head scarves, then make them sit in a separate room from the men. Occasionally have a man come through carrying a stick with which to beat any women who let an ankle or arm show. Just a thought. I actually really enjoyed living in Saudi Arabia. Shopping could be hairy but as long as you respected their culture it was fine.
