This yellow jacket stayed on my porch for at least an hour one day. He was so friendly that I was able to get multiple shots of him. I thought he looked really pretty when he buzzed over and landed on one of my husband's young viola blossoms.
He seemed to be really hungry, which may be why he was non-aggressive with me. He acted as if I were not even there, moving from blossom to blossom to get another taste.
I bet the mint-flavor of the viola was great for him! I'm so glad God had this little guy visit our front porch. He was such a neat little critter!
