Replacing Sink Strainer Baskets With Stoppers |
|
|
If, for some reason, your kitchen sink's drain strainer baskets tear up. Instead of replacing it with new ones designed the same way, just use a rubber sink stopper or plug. It's a lot cheaper to replace the rubber stopper or plug than the metal strainer baskets.

RE: Replacing Sink Strainer Baskets With Stoppers
I'd have to agree with exasperated. A strainer basket is much cheaper than a plumber!

Not to slam your idea, but for me the idea of the basket is to catch food, etc. before it can clog the drain. (We have an old house with old pipes and they are "picky.") If you buy the all-mesh, stainless steel baskets--not really expensive--and then use the plugs when you need to fill sink, you'll find the combination is perfect. Wal-Mart and other stores have them. They are a godsend for us (no disposal in sinks).
