Set Up Kids Table At Wedding Reception
If you are planning on having "kid tables" at your reception, be sure to substitute kid friendly centerpieces and favors. A basket of crayon flowers and coloring books not only look great but will give the children something to do during those times when it is not appropriate for them to be running around and playing.
Crayon flowers are easy and very inexpensive to make. snip buds (leaving a stem just slightly shorter than the crayon) from a bouquet of artificial flowers that compliment your color scheme then secure them to the crayons by wrapping floral tape around the stem and the crayon. You can use store bought coloring books or make your own by printing wedding clip art found for free on the internet.
My husband and I chose to make our own; using a three hole punch we put about 15 different coloring pages along with a few blank pieces of paper and a note from us in a folder. We were surprised (and a bit choked up) to find notes and pictures drawn of us left on the tables!
