To keep young children occupied while eating out, order a bowl of ice chips. The kids pick them up one by one and eat them. They're so small that it's not a choking hazard and it keeps them quiet for quite some time and allows you to eat in peace and quiet

I'm sorry-- I should have also mentioned that you can also give your children ice chips at home while eating a home-cooked meal!

No offense, but how about making a meal at home? The markup at casual dining restaurants is huge, if you consider the price of the ingredients.
