Donate Blankets To Vets Or Animal Shelters

You may be thinking about spring cleaning, and tossing towels and sheets that have seen better days. Take them to your local shelter. The staff and animals will be so grateful to have towels for after baths. Old sheets, bath mats, blankets make good bedding for the animals. Also take pet food coupons you're not going to use to the shelter for them to redeem.

I've been doing this for many years. Many of my best four-legged friends have come from the shelters.

Tip: Donate Blankets To Feed Stores Or Vets

Before tossing out old blankets, bedsheets, comforters, towels and jackets that you no longer need or want, check with local feed stores. One local feed store accepts donations of these product to use, for cleanups or for comforting, when they have shot clinics for local pets. Other uses could be for kennels, animal rescues, animal control, or at your local veterinarian's office.

RE: Donate Blankets To Feed Stores Or Vets

This is a good idea. Animal hospitals could also use old towels. Some vets do boarding and they bathe the pets so towels would be good or they use them for comforting....even when a pet is put to sleep. (08/21/2007)

RE: Donate Blankets To Feed Stores Or Vets

Thank you for donating. I have worked for a Veterinarian for many years and we appreciate getting towels and blankets. We use them ALL the time in the kennels. (10/26/2010)
