i am also trying to redecorate in a safari style. i suggest using natural tones with some bold colors. Hanging cloth is a good idea. also, try adding alot of wood (non-painted). Driftwood gives a room a natural feel.
i advise you not to add too many animal prints. i find it makes room less authentically african (unless those animal prints are real!)
dont go overboard with animal prints!
