Today's Recipes
Pork Chops and Rice
Ingredients
- 4-6 pork chops
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 3/4 cup raw rice
- 1 onion, sliced
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1 can beef consomme + 1/2 can water
Directions
Place rice in a greased casserole dish. Brown chops in a skillet and then arrange on top of the rice. Place a slice of onion, tomato, and green pepper on top of each chop. Pour consomme and water over this. Cover and bake 1 hour at 375 degrees F.

Turkey Joes
Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground turkey
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 cup Bar-B-Q sauce
- 1 Tbsp. sweet pickle relish
Directions
Brown turkey and onion in skillet for 8-10 minutes on low. Stir in pickle relish and BBQ sauce. Cook 2-3 minutes longer. Makes about 6 burgers.

Caramel Rolls
Ingredients
- Cinnamon and sugar as desired
- 1/2 cup white corn syrup
- 1/2 cup butter
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- pecans to taste
- Dough as for cinnamon rolls
Directions
Bring corn syrup, butter and brown sugar to a boil. Pour into greased baking dish and sprinkle with pecans. Roll dough as for cinnamon roll (sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.) Cut and place over caramel. Let rise until double. Bake 350 degrees F for 25 minutes. Invert to cool.

Tater Tot Casserole
Tater Tot Casserole I
Ingredients:
- 1 Lb Hamburger
- 1 Small Onion
- 1 Pkg. Tater Tots
- 1 Small Can Cream of Mushroom Soup
- 1 Can Milk
Directions:
Brown hamburger, drain.
Layer hamburger, onion, tater tots in 9x13 pan
Mix soup and milk (using the can to measure milk)
Pour evenly over top of tater tots. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until tater tots are brown and crispy (I like to add 1 can green beans to mine , right after I have layered the onion and hamburger)

Tater Tot Casserole II
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 - 2 lbs. hamburger or ground turkey
- 2 cans green beans or mixed vegetables (drained)
- 1 can mushroom soup
- 1 can celery soup
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- Tater Tots
Directions
Put uncooked meat and diced onion in 9x13 inch ungreased dish - spread evenly. Pour mixed vegetables next, and cover with soups. Line the top with tater tots. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees F in the oven.

Double Chocolate Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 1 egg
- 1 stick of butter (melted)
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
Directions
Mix together. Form balls and put on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 9-11 minutes at 325 degrees F.

Conquesto Dip
Ingredients
Layer in order:
- 1 can refried beans
- 1 can jalapeno bean dip
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 2 avocados, mashed
- 1 1/2 Tbsp. lemon juice
- 8 oz. sour cream
- 2 Tbsp. Miracle Whip
- 1 package taco seasoning
- 8 oz. shredded cheese
- 1 large can pitted black olives
- 2 tomatoes, diced in small pieces
Directions
Serve with crackers or chips.

Poppy Seed Bread
Ingredients
- Beat 3 eggs
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 cup plus 2 Tbsp. oil
- 2 1/4 cups sugar
- 3 cups sifted flour
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 Tbsp. poppy seeds
- 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 tsp. butter flavoring
- 1 1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
Directions
Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees F. Makes 2 loaves. When done and still warm, I mix 1/4 cup orange juice and 1/4 cup powdered sugar and pour over the bread. (Lightly - not too much).

Stew
Ingredients
- 1 lb. stew meat, cooked until tender
- 2 potatoes
- 1 cup tomato juice
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 1 cup cabbage, cut up
- 1 small onion
Directions
Cook together 1 1/2 hours on medium heat (enough to keep boiling).
