Hydrangea Flowers Faded to a Tan Color?

My hydrangea flowers used to be blue, but have turned tan over this summer. It is not like the brown when they are done blooming, they have just changed color. How can I get them to go back to the pretty blue color they used to be?

Hello, You need to add aluminum sulfate to the soil if you want them to turn blue. You can add this to the soil before the next blooming (usually in the spring) Your plants are most likely at the end of their blooming season. They will turn another color as they fade.

Placing slates (schist slates) next to their roots will help keep them blue.
