Here is a photo of a day lily my grandmother has in her yard, I visited her yesterday, saw this blooming and thought it was so lovely. They are growing in direct full sun, in a flowerbed that has a strawberry vine and golden lantanas. The soil is very sandy in her garden. She doesn't fuss over her flowers too much but I think all her digits are green not just her thumb. Source: Nana's backyard. By HICKCHIC3 from North Augusta, SC Contest Contender!

If you accidentally bought pineapple rings and needed chunks, you will no doubt have to cut them. Why drain them, put them on a counter cutting board or plate and create a mess? Cut them when they are still in the can. Just insert your knife in the center hole, and cut toward the can edge 16 times and you will have the same pieces you would if you bought them chunked. PS: It works great for whole canned spuds when you really needed sliced spuds, as well as olives, pear halves, peach halves, and other things that are too big in the can. Zelda (Boston Terrier/Bulldog) Zelda is 1 years old now, in this picture she was 2 months old. Just a baby, but so cute. She is a Boston Terrier/Bulldog mix. We got her one year ago, from an ad in the paper, it was love at first sight. We had to bring her home with us. As you can see too cute! She loves to chase leaves, balls, bugs, anything that moves! She is a bundle of energy, except for when she crashes, like in this picture! she was only a few months old, and slept with my sons house shoe with a warm bottle in it. Houston is an over 1 year old Orange Tabby. He was my valentines present, my husband took me to the local SPCA and I fell in love. He watches over the two dogs and seriously reports any bad things they do. He will cry and walk over to the mess. It's quite adorable! The picture looks like he should be a centerfold! Pay the Cell Phone Bill for a Gift For Mother's Day, I suggested that my grown kids not send me the usual flowers and such. I asked them to go pay one month of my cell phone coverage ($35.00) so that I can continue to talk daily. They liked this idea and I'm not getting a plant that I will have to figure out what to do with. By notwrong Contest Contender!

Clean the Refrigerator's Drawers and Shelves in the Dishwasher I hate cleaning my refrigerator, so I'm always thinking of ways to make it easier. I have a side by side one. I take my shelves and drawers out, and wash them in the dishwasher. The dishwasher done a great job cleaning them. I just two at a time and that way I don't have to empty the all the food out. All I have to do it just wipe the walls and the bottom out. I hope this helps another busy mom out. By MomSc2002 from Greenwood, SC Contest Contender!

I keep outdated credit cards or other laminated cards at my kitchen sink. Whenever I have something which sticks on the bottom of the Teflon pan and does not come off easily, I use the old laminated card. It does not scratch the Teflon and in most cases cleans the pan like a charm. By Bellevillelady from Belleville, Ontario, Canada Contest Contender!

Painting Tip: Freeze Brush For Tomorrow If you have to stop in the middle of painting before the job is done, you don't have to wash the brush. Just stick the bristles into a sandwich bag, no need to seal, and pop it into the freezer until ready to paint again. By Amuck from Fairview Heights, IL Contest Contender!

Cleaning Grease Off Wood Cabinets I have a vent hood and a kitchen full of wood cabinets and drawers that have polyurethane on them. The grease has accumulated over the years and I searched here for answers. I didn't have anything on hand that was suggested, but I did have a product that I buy at the Dollar Store that is called "Totally Awesome". It's super cheap and I use it on all sorts of things as a general cleaner. I thought what the heck and I sprayed it on and let it sit for about 2 minutes. I was amazed at how it performed. My wood looks so good. I am now going out to buy another bottle. By DVK from Pasadena, TX Contest Contender!

Rate It: Temperament of a Malamute/Spaniel Mix What is the temperament going to be for a malamute mix with spaniel? He has chosen to follow me where ever I go and seems to butt in when someone is hugging me or playing around with me. He does not hurt anyone. He is very friendly but sticks to me like glue. I also cannot leave in my car without him whining. Is he a one person dog? By Blue4 from Eaton Rapids, MI Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf89443900.tip.html

Rate It: We got Sage from the shelter, and they said she was 6-10 years old. The vet says she's 4 or 5. She has white hairs on her muzzle. She's probably full-grown at 35 pounds. The shelter warned us that she liked to be dominant among other dogs and they were right. She hates other dogs and cats, barking whenever she sees them. She doesn't play with any toys, but likes to dig in animal holes. She is relatively calm, and gets along great with other people. The shelter said she was a shepherd mix, and we did some online research and thought she might be a dingo. Any ideas? By Matthippie from Olathe, KS

Rate It: Dog Has Recently Become Aggressive I have a Dachshund named "Starr" that is acting very differently, aggressively toward her sister. Starr is 2 and Beautifull is 3. They grew up with each other. They never used to fight. We recently had 2 sets of puppies (15 total). They're 7 weeks now and almost as big as her.
Starr has attacked the puppies and fought her sister twice. I don't understand why she's doing that. I now have to keep her outside, separate from them. Can you tell me what would cause this behavior all of a sudden? Please help. By tirzah from San Diego, CA Post Feedback: http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf66226033.tip.html

Rate It: Potpourri Smell in Refrigerator My "bright" son decided to clean his refrigerator freezer recently. He decided to squirt potpourri oil inside. He said it smelled stale. Now everything has a funny taste and it has migrated into the refrigerator section. I've suggested baking soda paste, he did that. He says that he will put a thing of baking soda in there. Then in a day or two when he removes it the refrigerator still smells like the oil. Someone else suggested putting a small bowl of coffee grounds in there, did that. Any other suggestions for him? He says the ice gets hit bad with this smell. It is less than a year old and I really would hate to tell him to get rid of it, but the smell is ruining his food.
