  1. Telephone companies like to pad the bill, and claim that 'you requested' this/that feature. Read them the riot act.

  2. Insurance companies like to keep your premiums close to last years, so that you will think there hasn't been an increase in the premium, but some have been known to reduce/remove some coverages without you being notified to accomplish this: "You requested this" so review your insurance policy coverages side-by-side with last year's policy (assuming that it was exactly as you desired)
