Hi,

I found this web site on accident and think it's very cool. Right up my alley on tips and budgets. I will be passing it along to others. My question that started my google search was lemon shine for dishwashers. My WalMart doesn't carry it any more! How could they not? This product is awesome! I might have to go back to washing by hand, OH NO!

Our water is very hard, this is the only thing I found that works. Does anyone know how to contact the mg? Or have a comparable solution? HELP!

Thanks all in advance,

Julie in WNY

We bought a house with no dishwasher but not wanting to give up my lemi shine I tried it right in with the soap in the dishpan, rinse with clear water and it's great. Soak the copper bottom pans and they clean up just like brand new. I used it also to soak the filter from the humidifier. Just a sprinkle in the dish with warm water (no soap) and a while later the mineral deposits just float to the top.

Here in Idaho Falls, Idaho we have the hardest water I have ever seen. Even if I boil water on the stove, the pan is left with a white chalky substance that smells like chalk! Comes right of with a rinse of Lemi Shine. It works so well that I bought a clear glass dish set I had been wanting...and I can let them dry in the dish rack.

Now I sound like an ad! But really, I love it so much that I find uses for it all over the house! And if you contact the company directly they'll send you coupons!

I have hard water in my area of Spain, and I always use vinegar to clean away the lime scale, it keeps my dishwater sparkling. Put a generous amount of vinegar in the dishwasher and run a hot cycle to the end. The vinegar also cleans the taps and the inside of the toilet. I have never used Lemon Shine, they do not sell it in Spain. I do use a lot of vinegar, as this is a disinfectant as well.

For the person who asked about Lemi Shine availability in Canada, I see there is a Canadian Lemi Shine site: http://www.lemishine.ca/

There is a website www.lemishine.com that you can purchase the product right off of the website. There is also a form that you can print out and take to your local grocery store to ask them to start to carry the product. I have ordered a case of 8 off the website. A little more than what I was paying in walmart but I just have to have this stuff. It is awesome in my dishwasher. Never cleaner looking dishes

I have the same issue, I live in Harrisburg PA and the Walmart here didn't have it the last time that I was there. I thought that maybe they were out of it. It was the best thing for the dishwasher. I have hard water and that was the only thing that worked. I have tried detergents with Lemon but nothing compares to Lemi-shine. If someone knows how to get it, I am willing to buy it by the case. If I had an old bottle I would look for the manufacturer so that I could try to contact them.

I found that Jet-Dry or any other hard water helper does not work. It was very imbarassing to have people over with spots on our glasses and plates. I found Lemi-shine at Walmart and tried it, it worked great!! No more spots! However, when I went back to Walmart to get more, they didn't carry it anymore. So I looked it up online at www.lemishine.com and found it there. You can buy 6 bottles for $21.00 plus shipping and handling.

I also had trouble with the food not breaking down with the lemishine but my glasses were cleaner than ever with using lemi shine. I found that if I used detergent and only a capfull of lemishine in the second dispenser the food would break down and the shine was great.

Lemi Shine is the absolute best! I would recommend it to anyone who has cloudy dishes and glassware and a dirty dishwasher. Before I found Lemi Shine, I thought I would try a new dishwasher. Mine old one was just two years old. Lemi Shine solved a big problem for me and saved me a lot of money too. I am going to ask my Kroger store to carry it. It is at my Wal-mart now.

Wow! I can't believe this. I did a google search on lemi shine as well because my Wal-Mart in Indiana stopped carrying it. I can't use my dishwasher without it! I never imagined other people having the same problem. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction with the website!

I am disappointed that Walmart has discontinued lemon shine. I have used it in my dishwasher and had excellent results. Now I am trying to find a product similar to it, but so far nothing. I too might go back to hand washing dishes.

I used Lemon Shine until the dishwasher repair man said not too (not sure why, but we were having problems with food not breaking down and redepositing on dishes). I tryed a bunch of stuff and what works the best is Electrasol Gel Packs that have Jet Dry right in them. I use the orange ones because I like the citrus. My dishes have never been cleaner. And it is inexpensive.
