This page lists the best fuel economy you can get in a new car. It goes Hybrid (Insign,Prius,Civic), VW Diesel models, then the normal gas Civic, followed by five Toyotas (Echo, Scion XA and XB, Camry, and Celica).

Gas Mileage

The source for this data is an EPA web site.

If you fill your tank once week and buy a hybrid over a car that gets half its mileage you can save about $10/week or over $500/year. Enough for a couple car payments.

I'm hooked on the scion xb, it is supposed to get 34mpg on the highway, and you can buy it new for 14,200. Test drove & hope to own by this summer. check it out, it's looks will grow on you.
