I've purchased a long purple Knifty Knitter for my Dad. He's made LOTS of scarves in the twisted knit pattern. Are there other patterns to make things out there?

A great place to check out is the LoomClass Yahoo group: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LoomClass

Otherwise, check out the Loom Knitters Circle magazine online - you can make hats with the purple, purses - all kinds of things!

RE: Knifty Knitter Patterns

There are several free patterns on the provocraft.com website. You can also try the purling sprite website which belongs to Isela Phelps who has some of the best patterns and instructions I have seen. http://isela.typepad.com/looming_crafts/my_patterns.html Hope this helps (11/08/2007)

Cast on method

I have been using the knifty knitters since the early 80s. I love these knitters. They are so fun and easy. I do know of another way to cast on that makes a nice kit pattern. Instead of wrapping each peg, weave the yarn back and forth of the pegs. Wrap twice and start knitting. You will be able to knit every other peg on each wrapping. I usually do not wrap all the way around while knitting as it tends to get to tight.. I only wrap 5 or six pegs at a time. Not sure if any one knew about this cast on method or not. Just thought I would share. I can give additional instructions if anyone wants them. (07/04/2006)

You can get knifty knitter patterns on the Provo Craft website and from the Ben Franklin Crafts website. Go to Mary Maxium crafts on the internet and purchase books for round looms. It doesn't matter if they are for a different round loom they work.
